It is no revelation or surprise to me that Mitt Romney got booed at the NAACP Convention this week in Texas. It is however admirable how Romney handled himself during his appearance. There are not many people that would go into enemy territory and speak up for their principles while receiving very little applause or while being booed. Mitt Romney did that and stood up for our Constitution and The American Dream. The message went right over the heads of the audience because they were preconditioned to reject the messenger.
When Romney spoke about repealing OBAMACARE he got booed, and the media is making a very big deal out of that fact. They should however, be making a big deal about what the Patient Affordable Health Care Act will mean to all Americans, and they really need to point out to the Black community the repercussions of this law. They need to know that it is not what they think it is.
Mitt Romney went into a hostile environment and stood his ground. The audience missed a great opportunity to learn about what make America a great nation all because of bias and colorblindness.
In the end the message is clear however because many in the audience will think hard about the message as time unfolds itself and the law becomes a reality. They also must have realized that when Romney spoke about Black unemployment that the facts speak for themselves. Romney laid it out for them, and pulled no punches. He also did not pander to the crowd by tailoring his message or making his delivery fit the audience such as Hillary Clinton and President Obama does when they address Black Audiences.
Let’s post the good side of what Romney did, and keep our message before all people. The seed is planted, so let’s give it some water, and watch it grow and increase.
NAACP: DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH? Wake up and dump the "PREDATORS IN THE PULPIT." The community that you SAVE will be your OWN!
