My Impressions Of Last Night’s GOP Debate…

Watched the GOP debate last night as it streamed on CNN.com and thought moderator John King did a fine job- not what I expected from CNN. In fact, John impressed me more than the candidates themselves- with the exception of Michele Bachmann.

Michele, in my not-so-humble opinion, was dazzling. The Minnesota Congresswoman also used the occasion to officially announce her Presidential candidacy- albeit only technically announcing she had filed her paperwork earlier that day. Don’t know if Bachmann cleared the centerfield fence, but I came away from the debate with considerably more respect for her. She looked Presidential. I’d say she won the debate.

Two other participants, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, receive my honorable mention.

Governor Romney did nothing to diminish his stature and was well-spoken. As expected, Mitt was Presidential- but I’d like to see more fire in his gut.

Congressman Paul had the line of the night, saying “That’s a tough question,” when asked if Obama had actually done anything right. Ron vigorously attacked the Fed and its failed monetary policy. Everything he said made perfect sense. His underlying anger and frustration with Obama were genuine- particularly with regard to Libya. While Ron Paul’s Presidential image is still lacking, he was the best I’ve ever seen him. I wouldn’t count him out.

Gingrich and Cain? In a word? Windbags! I’ll leave it at that- except to say that they both offended me somewhat with their pompous, self-righteous and arrogant delivery. Sorry, but that’s how I feel about them both.

I suppose the others were indeed likable and made a decent effort- but they were generally less than impressive.

And yes, I was gratified that all the candidates directed their ire at Obama, rather than attacking each other. However, while the general consensus last night was that Obama has failed as a President, I didn’t hear any references to his treachery and fraud- especially his most recent forged birth certificate.

In conclusion, I’ve narrowed the GOP Presidential field to Bachmann, Romney and Paul- whether Palin, Perry and/or Huntsman enter the race or not.

Sounds like Michele, is the one that rises above, The others do nothing for me and have baggage.. We need to be very careful... We do not need perfect, we DO need a sincere love for this country and our constitution... Not someone adding more entitlements etc.

Did not watch.  But all candidates must be required to sign a document affirming they will defend and support all of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights, get these United States Of America out of the Federal Reserve, and the United Nations.

I wasn't expecting any dazzling winners and I wasn't disappointed. This was jockeying time and they all acquitted themselves remarkably well while appropriately focusing on the horrors of Obama. As frontrunners materialize, we will be able to more clearly see who shines and who doesn't. I did like Gingrich's obvious mastery of policy and solutions. His explaining the false choice between deporting 20 million illegals or granting them amnesty was incisive and a source of great relief for me. Clearly, in some fundamental ways, he's way ahead of the pack. What I had hoped is for someone on stage honestlyand forthrightly describing this administration's policies as destructive, guided by alien ideology and simply unAmerican. But, I guess that asks for too much. For me, the stark choice really is Republicanism/free enterpriese/liberty vs Statism/Socialism/Oppression. And I think there's a way to say so forcefully AND persuasively. Anyway, for me there were no individual winners. They all won.

To me, Michele was the clear winner, but hard core Paul, Cain and Mitt fans don't agree. Seems like she was very knowledgeable, measured in her responses, communicated well-- really had her act together. She needs to work on selling herself to the middle, because right now, it seems to me that she will have a hard time pulling votes from anywhere left of center, while Romney, Pawlenty could, as could Perry-- maybe  because they are all RINO's.

Cain went into the debate with one run (SC) and two strikes (Federal Reserve, comments on gays/Muslims). He is stil in the game, but lost a bit of ground.

Newt made up a little lost ground, but he's in trouble and looks like yesterday's candidate.

Paul was swinging wild scored some good points, but his answer on Afghanstan revealed why he could never get elected or be a CEO. Also, he talked too fast and jargon-laden, looked a bit crotchety. Time to pass the baton to Rand or Gary Johnson, Ron.  It is true that the new party vanguard is closer to his views, so at least that is an accomplishment.

I concur.....

Michele = exceeded expectations, but people need to look beyond the "woman as POTUS" image..

Mitt = performed, as expected (I still cannot trust him to stay center-right), but still looks "establishment".

Newt = long answers, still has a long way to convince us that he's not "establishment", as in CFR.

Cain = answers sounded too much "rehearsed", "canned".

Paul = great responses on monetary situation, but looks too "rumpled" for POTUS.

Pawlenty = sounded too much like an "appeaser".

Santorum = Good on pro-life issues, better image as VP.

If Perry jumps in, we now know he's THE Bilderbergers' candidate...  that's not good for him.

Palin will see a "strong" GOP field, so there's no need for her to join the fray.

Everyone should remember that Obama is the enemy.. and must be brutally destroyed so the media capitulates.
