PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

Father, we come before you and humbly ask that you forgive us of our sins and that you forgive us as a people for turning our backs on you over the years and allowing our lights to slowly grow dim and allowing darkness to cover our land.

We have fallen short, the Church has grown lazy and selfish. We weren't praying and fighting for righteous and holiness sake but, we're more concerned with our own worldly gains. For this we are paying the price but yet Father, many of us still point our fingers at others and try and put the blame elsewhere. Your Word said in Matthew, "You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother's eye".

I pray Father that we come to your Call in 2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It is not your Will Father that you destroy this land but our will when we do not do as you have required of us. Father, time is nothing for you, the days are numbered but you are the one that does the numbers and controls time. This Nation can be saved and restored if we do what is pleasing in your sight.

Father, I pray for your Grace to instill upon each believer in Christ Jesus to repent and do as you require so that you may heal our land in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Satan is the fact in all these various matters and demon possession is real. Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ cast them out of actual individuals in His former time physically here on this earth. It is a spiritual battle that requires the whole armor of God.

 

This nation, its people and leaders have turned their back in Almighty God. Some people complain about certain public holiday events as being too religious, while others seek to remove even the very mention of God from every aspect of our environment. Our society suffers from the result of free-will outright rejection of and open rebellion against The Father.

 

The time for repentance of sin and neglect is long overdue. We absolutely must now eschew everything evil within our total sphere of influences and seek after all that is good. Put away that which causes stumbling in your personal walk and of others. Our country is guilty of mingling light with darkness and toying around with the devil’s playthings. Only through fasting and intense dedicated prayer, diligently hungering and thrusting after righteousness will our world return to peace and sanity. Out of necessity we utterly have to.   

 

 

For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs. 2 Chronicles 29:6

 

And testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law: yet they dealt proudly, and listened not to your commandments, but sinned against your judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear. Nehemiah 9:29

 

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they are gone away backward. Isaiah 1:4

 

Saying to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You have brought me forth: for they have turned their back to me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. Jeremiah 2:27 

 

And they have turned to me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction. Jeremiah 32:33 

 

He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose! Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them. Ezekiel 8:17,18

 

But they refused to listen, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Zechariah 7:11

I do believe there are many people who are praying for this very thing, but I would remind all of us that the key to all our prayers lies in two things:  1.  That our country as a people "turn from their wicked ways;", and 2. that we remember that once a society has found its way to homosexuality it is only awaiting the full wrath of God to descend. 

Consider the prayers of the righteous man, Lot, and follow his example, for God will truly have his justice.

I like that passage, Gordon.  Everything that is written in God's word is profitable for correction, instruction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly furnished unto every good work.
