What Does Yer Not-So-Humble Correspondent REALLY Think?

Let me tell you just how bad our current Presidential field is, folks. Last night I watched the old Reagan movie “Hong Kong.” That old “B” flick from 1952 costarring Rhonda Fleming brought back “that old time feeling” more than any of the present GOP contenders have yet to do- at least for me.

And let me make this abundantly clear. My limited affinity for Mitt Romney is three-fold: 1. I can’t stomach Perry or Cain. 2. I believe Mitt can raise enough mainstream money and votes to beat the Kenyan imposter. 3. And yes, Mitt is LDS, but he doesn’t make as nervous as the others. That said, I really do like Ron Paul- but he still runs a distant second behind the other Ron in “Hong Kong,” the fictional role notwithstanding.

And now, today’s rant…

Way back in the latter half of the 19th century, our “beneficent” federal government ran roughshod over Latter-day Saints in the Territory of Utah. The underlying issue was polygamy. The Feds imprisoned many good and honorable men- leaving them unable to support their large families. The  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was virtually bankrupted by federal seizure of church assets. In a nutshell, federal law trumped territorial law.

Early on, as Johnson’s Army approached Salt Lake City in June of 1858 (as ordered by President James Buchanan), Territorial Governor Brigham Young arranged that sufficient straw be laid in its structures to burn the city to the ground- rather than turn it over to the Feds. Captain Jesse Gove of the 10th Infantry wrote this to his wife: "26th (June). Left camp early. I am rear guard of our own regiment. . . . We found the city evacuated, all had gone to Provo except a few men left to burn the city if ordered. The city is 50 per cent better in structure and situation than I expected. It is beautifully laid out and watered at every street. . . . Brigham’s palace is a magnificent structure. His apartment for his wives is attached so that it is easy of access. It is said that the inside is furnished in the most elaborate style, furniture imported, two or three pianos, etc.."

Yes, Utah didn’t become a state until 1911- but federal tyranny by any other name is still tyranny.

Fast forward to present day.

The Feds are presently attacking the State of Arizona in a similar way- trumping Arizona immigration-related law and refusing to protect its citizens from foreign enemies.

The Feds are also attacking the State of California- again trumping state law- this time, the legalization of medical marijuana. Private property is being seized- and good people being charged with crimes, tossed in jail and their reputations ruined- all for renting commercial space to medical marijuana merchants. I know all this for a fact- though I refuse to name names of my friends.

I’m a dyed-in-the-wool “states rights” guy. Maybe polygamy isn’t “your thing.” Maybe drug-related terror in Arizona isn’t yet perceived as “your problem.” Maybe medical marijuana isn‘t “your bag.” All beside the point.

Personally, I’ve no desire to engage in polygamy- mainly  because my church presently forbids that practice. And true, I don’t live in Arizona- and don’t yet feel threatened by the ruthless thugs which the murderous Mexican drug lords are sending across our southern border. Moreover, I have no interest whatsoever in using medical marijuana.

But get this! If the voters of any state would sanction polygamy, the Feds would be on their legal doorstep in a heartbeat- despite the irony that these federal tyrants (especially within the Obama administration) have no moral or legal objection to state-sponsored sodomy AKA the legalization of gay marriages among males.

But what’s the federal motive in Arizona and California? What’s the common thread?

In both Arizona and California the Feds are apparently protecting and abetting the illegal Mexican drug trade. They’ve sent thousands of illegal guns into Mexico to arm the drug cartels. They won’t let the people of Arizona defend themselves against a veritable invading army of Mexican thugs, thieves and butchers. The Feds also apparently wish to squash any Californian competition that rivals Mexican-grown marijuana.

Why? Well, my best guess is that the shadow government (the NWO crowd or whatever you wish to call them) simply wants to destabilize our economy and generally terrorize American families. In a word, they want the USA to collapse. What else are we to think?

And related to Obama’s ongoing attempts to collapse the USA, did you notice Barry latest military move? Sending 100 military advisors to Uganda? Is the Kenyan clown setting us up for an African version of Vietnam?

One of these days I’ll tell you what your not-so-humble correspondent REALLY thinks!

The 1912 cartoon has me thinking . . . . . today, is the federal government in charge of the Federal Reserve Bank or is it the reverse?

If the Federal Reserve Bank is more powerful than the federal government then how come we don't hold a national election for the head of the fed? Surely if we held an election for the head of the fed, we wouldn't end up with a Bernanke . . . . would we?

Thanks, Phil. My sentiments exactly! And this from William F. Buckley Jr: "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views- but then are shocked and offended to discover that there ARE other views."

Each of the current candidates have their own set of vote killer qualifications Ron Paul included.

Back in June of this year he ACTUALLY cosponsored, with BARNEY FRANK no less, a bill to legalize marijuana. Let me be more accurate THEY wanted to "DE-list" marijuana as a controlled substance. They said it should be a states rights issue. The bill failed and I'm glad. Can you imagine what some states would look like with legal marijuana??? Can you picture a college football game in  sunny southern California with a 100,000 college kids doing joints AND beer!!!??? I can. I worked many baseball and football games in security.

I was "RIGHT THERE" making arrests and calling for ambulances for those injured in fights and still others that had OD'd on beer. NO WAY I want marijuana legalized.

So . . . . . Ron Paul . . . . . loose canon, great candidate, statesman, congressman, MD., what?

And then to partner with that vial of bull sperm Barney Frank on ANYTHING . . . .  just makes my sphincter quiver.

Don't get me wrong, no matter Ron Paul IS he IS better than what we got and I'd vote for him if he's our conservative presidential candidate. No problem.

PS to all FYI: Since neither Romney nor Cain has any intention whatsoever of abolishing the Fed, I'LL BE HOLDING MY NOSE IF I MUST VOTE FOR EITHER ONE. I'll just have to pinch my nostils a bit tighter for Cain. And since I consider the international banking cabal to be PUBLIC ENEMY #1, the only person I could vote for with a clear conscience right now is RON PAUL. And when I voice my "limited" approval of Romney, I mean just that: "LIMITED." Brother Norbury (see below) is exactly right. RAJ

“‘If [Cain] can explain a 9 percent sales tax so people decide they want it, he has a good chance to be the nominee,’ said Gingrich on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley…

“‘If, however, in New Hampshire, for example, where they have no sales tax at all and no mechanism for collecting it, or in Iowa where senior citizens are going to say, wait a second, as my 79-year-old mother-in-law said on her Social Security, in her fixed income she’s now going to pay 9 percent more? … As people look at 9-9-9 and disaggregate it, it gets to be a lot harder sale, I think,’ Gingrich told Crowley.”
