Yes, I now agree Jared Loughner is simply a wacko killer. End of story- at least for now. Even Alex Jones says Loughner is “certifiably completely a paranoid violent schizophrenic... a lunatic monster.” My only point was that somebody may have used him as a murder weapon. However, it is undeniably apparent that Loughner is now being used by the left as a weapon against our free speech, especially the vitriolic variety- and against our right to bear arms. By the way, my favorite line in the present controversy belongs to Barry Obama himself from back in June of ‘08: “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”
And here’s another likely political murder I missed- recently featured by that same Alex Jones, perhaps the only American more paranoid than I am. On New Year’s Eve 66 year old John P. Wheeler was found in a trash can that was dumped in a Newark, Delaware landfill. Wheeler, a decorated Vietnam veteran and also an advisor to both Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, worked tirelessly to build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in in Washington. His death has been ruled a homicide.
From Before It’s News on 11 January: “Wheeler was the assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force in the George W. Bush Administration. It was the Secretary of the Air Force who discovered that Richard Cheney had set up an alternative chain of command to the nuclear weapons wing of the AF. In the process, six minutemen missiles armed with nuclear warheads were secretly transported from Minot AFB to Barksdale AFB. The latter is the chief staging base for the Middle East war. The alarm system for the weapons was deactivated for the transport, something that not even the base commander could authorize. The orders had to have come from above. Many point to Cheney. Before the warheads could be flown via B-52 to the Iraq/Iran theater, the Secretary of the Air Force ordered the stand-down of all B-52 flights. When he discovered the alternative chain of command to Cheney, he fired all military personnel who were involved. Cheney was said to have been livid. The Secretary ordered an investigation of what the AF press release called an oversight, and 70 enlisted men and 5 officers were removed from the Minot nuclear system. At the same time, people involved began to die mysteriously. Wheeler is only the latest casualty.”
Wheeler’s murder a political assassination? Nah- just another coincidence…
In addition to the misguided malevolent left using Loughner’s deranged behavior to further limit our Constitutional liberty, the nonstop media hype about the Tucson tragedy has exacerbated America’s chronic tunnel vision- forcing other critical concerns even beyond our periphery! Is Obama still in the White House? Has the southern border been sealed? Are America’s young patriots still being killed and maimed in foreign wars? Is our national debt still soaring? Such questions could fill a book, but you get the picture.
In the great national shell game operated by the lamestream media and our own federal government, one particular news story is used to distract us from surreptitious activities elsewhere. Their spellbinding prestidigitation aided by the wonders of modern technology often renders us no more alert to clear and present danger than an oblivious ostrich with its head buried beneath the sand!
Perhaps this is why Big Brother is so concerned about our freedom on the net. Cyberspace is the last bastion of free speech that the elitists haven’t been able to overregulate- where news stories still fly across the nation at warpspeed based on their own merit. Fox News Channel is small potatoes in comparison.
Maybe we don’t always get the facts quite right at first, but when we all put our internet-connected Constitutionally conservative heads together, it doesn’t take long to sort fact from fiction.
In conclusion, let’s all look a little deeper into the startling events unfolding around us. Let’s be a bit more concerned about those Americans most affected by this contrived financial crisis. Let’s not waste time in trivial pursuits as our beloved nation dances on the edge of disaster. Raise a stringent voice against evil and tyranny. Every American can contribute something- whether it be choosing American goods over foreign imports, conserving energy to reduce our dependence on foreign oil- or simply helping a neighbor in need.
Most of all, diligently take care of your own families. Pay off or at least pay down your debt. Attend to your emergency supply of food and other household items. As best you are able, teach your children how to preserve the American dream for their own posterity. Teach them of our dependence on Almighty God- and about those sacred liberties protected by both valiant patriots in uniform and Constitutional authority. This is a fight we can win. This is a fight we must win.
Can we one day face the ghosts of Bataan and Corregidor and admit we abandoned them a second time? And while no measure may be too extreme in defense of liberty, let us always first seek the kindlier way and the higher road. And yes, “more civility in our public discourse” would be a good thing, Barry.
