There is no doubt that President Obama’s health care system promises to fundamentally transform America. It’s been touted as the saving grace of the working class.

But how feasible is it really?

We know it’s essentially a wealth redistribution scheme that takes money from one group of people in the form of forced tax payments, only to shift that money into the pockets of those who didn’t earn it in the form of government subsidies to their health care premiums.

But like all universal programs, the promise of free anything only works so long as you don’t run out of other people’s money.

That being said, a basic analysis of how Obamacare premiums work across the spectrum of America’s wide ranging socio-economic population suggests that it’s dead on arrival.

Once the forced mandates take hold one of two outcomes become inevitable, as noted by The Market Ticker, whose Karl Denninger took a detailed look at the government’s county-by-county premium data.

The consequences of implementation will be disastrous.

Either the Obamacare system itself collapses under its own weight, or the U.S. economy falls apart because of the extreme burden being hoisted on those who are responsible for paying the bill.

Either way, we’re looking at an almost instantaneous collapse of one or the other.

It’s an exercise in basic arithmetic that those who failed to read the bill before passing it should have considered prior to pushing this on the American people by way of a new stealth tax… unless of course the further impoverishment of America is their ultimate goal.

There are several very interesting statistical facts that come from this.

First, if you’re “27″, the average premium is $266.20/month or $3,194.40 per year.  How many 27 year olds have an extra $3,200 to spend on this?  Remember, this is the price that virtually every uninsured 27 year old must be willing — and able — to cough up in order to prevent the model this system is predicated on from collapsing.

If those 27 year olds don’t show up, and they won’t, then the system collapses instantly.  If they do show up because the government threatens them with fines the economy collapses as $3,200 a year exceeds the average 27 year old’s disposable personal income after mandatory expenses (e.g. food, shelter, etc.)  Remember, there are always exceptions but these premiums are averages and over large pools of people the statistical averages are what matters — not the ends of the barbell.

It gets better.  The “average” 50 year old premium, again, for single coverage, is $452.87, or $5,434.44/year.  How many 50 year olds will find that attractive compared against what they’re paying now?  Probably more of them, especially if they’re already sick.  But how about the healthy ones?

Note two things as well on this account — these premiums are for non-smokers (smoker premiums are grossly surcharged with reports being 2x the above) and they do not account for anyone other than one person.  If you are a single parent with kids (rather common) the premium on average is $610.23/month or about $7,300, and if you’re a couple it’s $647.86 (again, $7,774 annually.)

Now let’s look at the government’s own claims.  First, the CPI index claims that health insurance is 0.656% of the family budget.  What percentage of couples make $1.185 million a year?  Why do I ask?  Because that’s the alleged median income for a couple if you believe the government’s CPI numbers.

Yeah, right.

Next, while some people will get “tax credits” to offset these costs all that does is lard it up on the federal budget, because someone else has to pay that bill.  In other words this is the true cost that will come out of your hide one way or another — either directly by paying, indirectly by taxation, or indirectly by destruction of your purchasing power.

Next, note that this is the “50 year old” premium but you have to be 65 to qualify for Medicare.  The price will rise each year after 50 that you happen to be and there are already reports that if you’re 59 these premiums are understated by half.  How many couples who are 59 and cannot qualify for Medicare yet have not $7,700 a year of extra money laying around but north of $15,000?

That’s what I thought.

Full Analysis at Market Ticker

The whole idea is predicated on the notion that you can indefinitely take from Peter to pay Paul.

But eventually Peter is going to run out of money and not be able to foot the bill, or he’ll simply refuse to buy into the scheme altogether.

Like everything else government, the new health care initiative will be a complete and utter failure.

The basic principles of mathematics will prove this to be true in coming months and years.

As Denninger notes, America will be “strangled and expire economically as a direct consequence” of the marriage of the State and Health Care industry.

The die has been cast.

Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is executive at company that built Obamacare website

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website.

Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.

Townes-Whitley and her Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

Toni Townes ’85 is a onetime policy analyst with the General Accounting Office and previously served in the Peace Corps in Gabon, West Africa. Her decision to return to work, as an African-American woman, after six years of raising kids was applauded by a Princeton alumni publication in 1998

George Schindler, the president for U.S. and Canada of the Canadian-based CGI Group, CGI Federal’s parent company, became an Obama 2012 campaign donor after his company gained the Obamacare website contract.

As reported by the Washington Examiner in early October, the Department of Health and Human Services reviewed only CGI’s bid for the Obamacare account. CGI was one of 16 companies qualified under the Bush administration to provide certain tech services to the federal government. A senior vice president for the company testified this week before The House Committee on Energy and Commerce that four companies submitted bids, but did not name those companies or explain why only CGI’s bid was considered.

On the government end, construction of the disastrous Healthcare.gov website was overseen by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a division of longtime failed website-builder Kathleen Sebelius’ Department of Health and Human Services.

Conservative Reporter Says Feds Took Her Files While Searching Her Home for Guns

Conservative investigative journalist Audrey Hudson says that her reporting notes were taken during a search of her home by the Department of Homeland Security and Maryland police. Hudson's husband, Paul Flanagan, is legally prohibited from owning a gun, and cops searched their home in Shady Side, Maryland for firearms in the early morning of August 6, the Daily Caller's Alex Pappas reports. Hudson is now afraid her sources have been compromised, and suggests she's being punished for her reporting. The Coast Guard says it's because she had original government documents.

"They took my notes without my knowledge and without legal authority to do so," Hudson told the Daily Caller. "The search warrant they presented said nothing about walking out of here with a single sheet of paper." The Daily Caller says Hudson produced a photo showing "the stack of file folders in a bag marked 'evidence/property.'" The site also obtained a copy of the search warrant:

The document notes that her husband, Paul Flanagan, was found guilty in 1986 to resisting arrest in Prince George’s County. The warrant called for police to search the residence they share and seize all weapons and ammunition because he is prohibited under the law from possessing firearms.

So why does Hudson think she was the real target of the raid? Hudson once worked for the conservativeWashington Times, and Newsmax, and the Colorado Observer. She told the Daily Caller that an investigator with the Coast Guard Investigative Service, Miguel Bosch, asked her of she was the reporter who'd written articles for the Washington Times critical of arm marshals. (Air marshals are under the Coast Guard, and the Coast Guard is under the Department of Homeland Security.) Then, on September 10, Bosch told her that five files with interview notes were taken during the raid. Those files had the names of government sources, and "were used to expose how the Federal Air Marshal Service had lied to Congress about the number of airline flights there were actually protecting against another terrorist attack," Hudson says. She says Bosch said the files had to be run by the TSA to make sure it was "legitimate" for her to have them. Bosch would not give the Daily Caller a comment.

Why would the Coast Guard Investigative Service be involved with a raid to make sure Flanagan wasn't violating gun laws? The Coast Guard said it was because Flanagan is an ordnance technician for the Coast Guard in Baltimore. Why take someone's files during a gun raid? The Coast Guard says it's because some were original government documents, which Hudson says she got through a Freedom of Information Act request. "During the course of the search, the CGIS agent discovered government documents labeled FOUO – For Official Use Only (FOUO) – and LES – Law Enforcement Sensitive. The files that contained these documents were cataloged on the search warrant inventory and taken from the premises," a Coast Guard spokesperson said. Hudson says that doesn't explain why her handwritten notes were taken.

Update: The Coast Guard sent this statement:

"In the course of a joint Federal &  Maryland State Police investigation, a lawful search warrant was served on August 6, 2013 in Shadyside, MD.  The  Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) was asked to participate  since the search involved a Coast Guard employee.  During the course of the search, the CGIS agent discovered government documents labeled FOUO -  For Official Use Only (FOUO) and LES - Law Enforcement Sensitive.  The files that contained these documents were cataloged on the search warrant inventory and taken from the premises.  The documents were reviewed with the source agency and determined to be obtained properly through the Freedom of Information Act.  The CG employee was notified that the documents were cleared and the CG employee picked them up after signing for the documents."

This is just another example of how our Constitution is being shredded by this Administration.  An illegal search and seizure (the warrant covered only guns and ammunition) proves that Conservatives are being targeted and harassed, just as the IRS harassed Conservative groups by muzzling them before the 2012 election, thus enabling Obama's re-election. They are still doing it, and it is time we got rid of the IRS!

It is time for all American Patriots to take action.

The Founders gave state legislatures the power to make changes to the federal structure when Washington, D.C., starts to abuse its authority.  Article V of the Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention for the limited purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution.

'Citizens for Self-Governance' has launched the Convention of States Project to call for a convention for the purpose of proposing amendments that impose fiscal restraints and limitations on the power of the federal government.

I support this approach. I want Nevada to be one of the necessary 34 states that passes a resolution calling for a Convention of the States. I'm sure REAL CONSERVATIVE members want the same for their states. They can find a copy of the draft resolution and a legislator’s handbook (which briefly explains the process and answers many questions) at www.conventionofstates.com.

I ask you to support the Convention of States Project and become either the lead

sponsor or co-sponsor of a resolution in the next legislative session.

Thanks so much for your service to the people of our district.
