Because of your overwhelming generosity and support, well over 61,000 needed items have now been shipped to brave soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and injured soldiers recovering stateside. Thank you! Based on the many letters I have received from soldiers, I know your efforts have made a positive difference in their lives.

Additionally, here's some exciting news that could potentially result in additional funds to support our military... my/our work on behalf of U.S. troops has been selected a national semifinalist in the Energizer Keep Going Hall of Fame Contest! Eligible visitors to the Energizer Facebook page will be able to vote for the entry he/she believes best describes what the nominee does to bring unstoppable energy to their quest to make a difference in their community and/or around the world. During this round of voting, you need to have a Facebook account to vote; however, it is my understanding you may open an account when you visit the link below. If you do not want to do that or you do not have a Facebook account, you may also help by forwarding this e-mail to those individuals you know that do have Facebook accounts.

Here are the steps to place your vote during the first round of public voting:

Second, then hit the "Like" button next to my nomination.*

Third, forward this e-mail and/or post it on Twitter or Facebook and share it with as many people as possible. Ask your contacts to vote for the Operation U.S. Troop Support, Inc./Alison Mansfield project then forward this e-mail and link to their friends, associates, classmates, coworkers and relatives. If you are a teacher or administrator, please ask your students to vote too. If you do not have Facebook access at your school but have Facebook at home, please forward this e-mail and link to your home account and vote from home.

In the spirit of the contest, let's keep it going and going and going!!!

*Please note you must be a legal resident of the 50 U.S./D.C. and 13 years of age or older to place a vote. Voting is limited to one vote per person per semifinalist.

How awesome would it be to win $1,000 (if my/our project is selected a finalist) or $5,000 for my favorite charity (if my/our project is selected the grand prize winner) to support our troops?* Imagine how many warm, wool socks, toiletries, snacks and other needed items this would enable me to purchase for the troops! Imagine how much postage could be underwritten by this award? And... if my/our project is selected a finalist, it will then advance to the next level of voting in which a national grand prize winner will be selected by an additional public vote. If I become a finalist eligible to win the grand prize, details concerning that award will follow.

Judges will select nine finalists from the semifinalists and the tenth finalist will be selected based on Facebook public votes cast between March 17 and March 25, 2011. In other words, your votes count! When we make it past the first round of voting (notice my confidence in our ability to make this happen), the public will vote on the 10 finalists to determine a grand prize winner.
