Your Southern Italian Secrets adventure begins the moment we touch down at Fiumicino airport in Rome where you'll be met by your Tour Leader from Conservative Tours. Relax and enjoy your first cappuccino in Italy before boarding our private luxury coach for a countryside meander through the nearby region of Umbria in central Italy - our home for the first three nights.

Three hotel nights in Assisi - nestled on the slopes of Mount Subasio, and famously home to Saint Francis of Assisi.

Guided walking tour through the medieval centre of Assisi with our expert local city guide
Roman temple of Minerva, the Basilica of Saint Clare, several medieval palazzi
Basilica of Saint Francis - including viewing of the frescos by Cimabue and Giotto.
A visit and tasting near historic Perugia, at a chocolate museum.
The famous medieval village of Cortona ("Under the Tuscan Sun").

Our second segment continues in Rome as you awaken to your first full day in the Eternal City:

Three hotel nights at a first class hotel in the City of Fountains
Visits to Imperial Rome: The Coliseum, The Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, The Imperial Forum.
Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Aventine Hill.
Via Veneto and “La Dolce Vita!”
The Vatican: our Roman expert guide leads us through the world-renowned Vatican Museum and Vatican Art Galleries, Round Hall, Hall of the Greek Cross, Tomb of St. Helen and St. Constance. Gallery of the Chandeliers, the Tapestries and the Geographical Maps.
The Sistine Chapel with its Michelangelo frescoes, St Peter's Basilica.
A lovely evening stroll from Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain (don't forget to toss a coin!) and then on to the Pantheon.
