Sharon Rondeau, Post & Email, 5 March 2011: “On 6 January 2011, the newly-seated House of Representatives began its session by reading portions of the US Constitution aloud on the House Floor during its first full day in session, an event which was open to the public. When Rep. Frank Pallone read the passage from Article II, Section 1, clause 5 of the Constitution, which reads: ‘No person, except a natural born Citizen, shall be eligible to the office of President…,’ Ms. Theresa Cao shouted out, ‘Except Obama! Except Obama! Help us, Jesus! My name is Theresa!’ Ms. Cao was handcuffed, arrested and charged with Unlawful Conduct (Disruption of Congress).”
I suppose the House rules are the House rules- but Ms. Cao as a US citizen was simply voicing her opinion directly to Congress when neither the executive branch nor the judicial branch has offered slightest redress to the American people for the ruthless abuses of executive power committed by the Obama Administration. And free speech? It also highlights how Congress, even in the process of reading the Constitution, has no intention of abiding by its precepts. And here I thought it was “the peoples’ house,” Speaker Boehner.
In stark contrast, I marveled how boisterous demonstrators were recently allowed express their raucous free speech inside the Wisconsin State House for seventeen days straight. I don’t applaud such union-inspired cacophony, but God bless Wisconsin for letting them to it! No gangster government there!
In a far more serious example of federal disregard for our Constitutional rights, even disregard for life itself, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down on 14 December 2010. According to Katie Couric and Sharyl Attkisson of CBS, two AK-47 rifles found at the murder scene were intentionally allowed by the ATF to “walk” into Mexico nearly a year before the murder. Far worse, it has now been confirmed that Agent Terry was armed only with non-lethal bean-gag rounds. If I had willingly facilitated the placement of assault rifles in the hands of criminals who subsequently murdered a federal agent with those weapons, and I then intentionally prevented that agent from properly defending himself- would I not expect to spend the rest of my life in federal prison? Moreover, this flagrant federal disregard for the lives of innocent Mexican citizens being harmed by such weapons is despicable.
From the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
Whatever happened to our utmost reverence for that hallowed declaration- and for “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?” And while I by no means advocate violent revolution, it is readily apparent to all but the hopelessly oblivious that the American people are being pushed further and further in that direction by a federal government that ignores both their God-given rights and their demands for justice by any credible definition thereof.
It is the sad disposition of almost all men that when they are given even the slightest degree of authority, they choose to exercise unrighteous dominion over others. And yes, when the people fear the government, instead of the other way around, they languish under the iron fist of tyranny.
The federal government now fails to protect the greater good- rather championing the avarice of special interests. Infiltrated by socialists and militant-Muslim sympathizers, the Washington establishment now follows the spurious doctrine of seizing the wealth of many to benefit a few- all the while trumpeting the equally reprehensible ruse of seizing the wealth of a few to spread wealth among many. Worse yet, the line between our federal government and the independently-owned Federal Reserve is hopelessly blurred- with the international banking cartel largely in control of our lives. Our men and women are sent forth to fight futile foreign wars- sent by cowards who consider our Soldiers little more than cannon fodder fit for satisfying insatiable corporate greed. And all the while our own borders are insufficiently protected- the defense of those borders being the main reason we tolerated a federal government in the first place!
Finally, I’m sick and tired of all the lies- from Barry Obama on down. The unbridled power of government to spew forth a litany of lies is held sacred in Washington- yet on 6 January 2011 a young American woman who boldly enunciated one simple truth before Congress was met with the full extent of the law. And the murder of Brian Terry? A federal government who intentionally fails to protect its own people is no better than a mongrel dog with no respect for its master. Ask Barry Jennings! Forgot. Jennings is dead…
