First up, the Skin Gun may be the answer to burns on the battlefield- a new technology which could help prevent infection in severely burned Soldiers.
Next, on the Council on Foreign Relations roster under “G” is Newton L. Gingrich. To put that information in perspective, under “R” we find David Rockefeller, David Rockefeller Jr, John D. Rockefeller IV, Nicholas Rockefeller and Steven C. Rockefeller. Under “S” you find George Soros, Jonathan Soros and Paul Soros. That tells you all you need to know about Newt. And NOT listed on the CFR roster? Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Allen West or Mike Huckabee…
Regarding Egypt, I had hoped Mubarak would stay in place until the election, but I’ll settle for the relatively bloodless military coup which took place on Friday- although I have not heard it called by that name. However, I still find it odd that the Obama administration has stiffed democracy in Iran, in Honduras and at home- but had to rid Egypt of Hosni Mubarak willy-nilly.
And while I am indeed concerned about terrorist access to Egyptian nukes, I am equally concerned about the drug cartel violence in Mexico. Tim Johnson of McClatchy Newspapers reported on 3 February 2011:
“MEXICO CITY- Over a 48-hour period this week, gangsters tossed grenades, torched buses, set up roadblocks and strafed police units in Mexico's second and third largest cities.
Assailants in Guadalajara and Monterrey used a variety of tactics. In several assaults, they acted like hit-and-run guerrillas. In other skirmishes, they mimicked small army units. Elsewhere, they hijacked vehicles like common criminals.
As gangsters demonstrate an ample repertoire of fighting skills, it is little wonder that four years into President Felipe Calderon’s battle against organized crime, many Mexicans aren’t sure what to call the turmoil in their country. Is Mexico at war? Does it face a criminal insurgency? Or is it locked in sustained gangland violence?
Calderon himself shies away from uttering the ‘w’ word- war…
The linguistic debate came further to the fore when a German think tank, the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research, issued its 19th annual rankings of worldwide conflict last month, elevating the status of the conflict in Mexico from ‘crisis’ to ‘war,’ putting it alongside Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq and Somalia.
‘Clashes, especially between security forces and drug gang members, rose dramatically in comparison to past years, adding up to several hundred incidents all over the country,’ the institute said, explaining that it believed Mexico’s conflict had ‘escalated to a full scale war.’
According to a database offered by the government, last year's 15,273 violent deaths marked the bloodiest year since the president launched a head-on confrontation with the cartels in late 2006. Since then, the death toll stands at 34,612 deaths.”
And anybody who thinks “What happens in Mexico stays in Mexico” should probably apply for a job in the Obama administration. In that regard, Barry and his bumbling bureaucrats have generally chosen to solve America’s problems by administering copious amounts of government intervention and red tape. Drug-related terror in our south western states was answered with a lawsuit against Arizona- and joining with foreign governments against that state. They “fixed” the best medical delivery system in the world by injecting a lethal dose of ObamaCare. Moreover, the latest wave of federal red ink is enshrined so much black ink, that surely it would take a lifetime of speed reading to discover where even half the money went.
Finally today, I have yet to hear any Republican Presidential wannabe make a definitive statement regarding the combined threat to our national security represented the international banking cartel, Islamic extremists, hardline communists- and the Mexican drug cartels because of their current destabilization of all government in Mexico, which spectacular criminal activity now forces me to place the drug cartels on equal footing with the other three.
Nor have I heard anyone question Senator Obama’s involvement in the Kenyan presidential campaign of his communist Muslim Luo cousin Raila Odinga- which resulted in the murders of hundreds of Christians. Accessory to murder? Treason? Amazing what gets lost in ensuing news cycles!
Other than Congressman Ron Paul, is there a GOP Presidential candidate out there without tunnel vision? Generally speaking, I hear a more comprehensive reading of reality from Glenn Beck and Alex Jones…
