Comment by Oregon Country Girl on April 2, 2010 at 10:20pm: Doctors say the healthcare system will not be fixed without "TORT" reform. This bill has no meaningful "TORT" reform in it. "TORT" reform is something the Republicans were calling for. They have great ideas to improve the system. Which is why the Republicans must re-take the "House" in November, block funding for this montrosity, and then "repeal and replace" when they re-take the Presidency in 2012.

They're spouting the liberal rhetoric, but it's mostly false. The people really do not appreciate a group of Congressmen who say "this bill is so wonderful"..."but, we haven't read the bill...so in reality we don't know what's in it...however, we're going to vote for it anyway. But, we're going to be sure to vote down the amendment that says we have to operate under the same system, and have this bill apply to us.You find out the truth from people who have actually read the bill. Doctors know the reality of how the bill will affect them. A doctor in my county said it will drive private practice doctors out of business. Doctors and hospitals already lose money on Medicare and Medicaid patients. Many believe this will bankrupt private insurance companies within two years, and bankrupt the states within four years. Which is why so many Governors are concerned and many Attorney General's are bringing lawsuits against the Federal Government. The corrupt, underhanded tactics that were used to foist a really "bad" bill on the American people on a purlely "partisan" basis, is what has the people so angry, and they have a right to be angry. Which is why the Democrats will lose many seats in November.
