As time marches on, as TARP fails, as healthcare comes to the fore on the floor of the Congress, as we are told we will NOT be able to see certain bills posted on the Internet, as more and more money is spent by the government on various and sundry projects which make no sense in these economic times, as the voting on Cap & Trade nears, as we see so many of our rights under the Bill of Rights and the Constitution fly away into outer space, I'm feeling not only weary, weepy, and ticked-off...I'm starting to go CRAZY here! I'm so FURIOUS that if some members of the Congress were in my presence (and that's about as likely as Elvis coming back to life), I have no clue what I'd do. Spittle would be flying to be sure! LOL

I had an interesting conversation with a check-out gal at Gristedes (a local New York City supermarket) yesterday. She is a member of her union and stated unequivocally that she would NEVER leave her job because of the healthcare benefits she receives. Even a couple of dollars an hour would not be tempting. And she's RIGHT! Naturally I chirped in like a mad magpie stating that she had no IDEA of what was coming down the pike with Cap & Trade and all other manner of bills currently under consideration by our so-called representatives. I then informed her of the proposed cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

Behind this gal was a younger version of herself, a young gal who likely thought I was a bit off-the-wall, but next to her was the store manager who was agreeing. When I got to the part of cuts in the provision for motorized wheelchairs for those who have been so badly injured by accidents and for folks who have medical conditions which necessitate these motorized wheelchairs, they started to look like what we would think Blue Dog Democrats would look like....they were a mite amazed and quite disgusted.

The tide is turning, and is including folks who would generally vote the Democratic ticket without a thought. These folks are tuning in to the news, and TUNING OUT on the Obama administration...one by one, and are waking up to the FAKE Obama he presented to the worldas he ran for office, and the REAL Obama who entered office and who currently occupies the White House.

So the lesson might well be: Speak with EVERYONE you see. If they're even a mite intrigued by your commentary, keep it up and inform folks as to what's going on. (To be sure, give up on the folks who pooh-pooh you...they're not educated and aren't remotely interested...and you'll never be able to educate them on the issues.) Each person you speak with will speak to YET ANOTHER person, and that person to YET ANOTHER, and so on, ad infinitum, and thus a movement to take back control of our country can grow and prosper!

The Finance Committee in the Senate has voted NOT to post the health care bill on the internet. They even told their staff to only read the highlights.

Each day seems to bring yet another valient try by those on the left to remove more of our liberty.

Our "REPRESENTATIVES" have completely lost even any semblance of pretense as to who it is they REPRESENT. They are all power crazed and think they alone know what is on our best interest.

They vote on bills with little or no scrutiny and even less debate. Some of the bills were [ allegedly ]written by the Apollo Group [the stimulus bill], a group started by Van Jones.

We were told by both this president and the Speaker of the House that this administration would be the "most ETHICAL and TRANSPARENT" in the history of this country. Now, that same Speaker has decreed that none of the legislation proposed in the House would be available for public scrutiny.

Does anyone beside me appreciate the irony of the fact that the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is addressed as [a] "MADAM"?

You are absolutely right about sharing with people you encounter. Many still get information from the sources that USED to be reliable but are now run by this administration.

Like you, I feel almost powerless in the face of this steam rolling of our way of life!
