Obama-care and Our Representatives' Reluctance to Wade through Bills They're Signing into Law

Here is a wonderful quote from Rush Limbaugh on his radio program which a pal sent me via e-mail:

"Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head, John Conyers, says he doesn't understand it. It'll be passed by Congress that has not read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a Treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong?"

This would be HYSTERICAL if it were not so true...and it's very, very worrying.

I have a thing or two to say to those in Congress who do NOT read the bills:

The American people DO read them, and we can get through the legalese quite easily. (The trick with legalese is to CARVE OUT the wherefors and therebys and the phrases which make these bills so long and get to the MEAT of the matter.) If the American PUBLIC can do this, why can't our so-called representatives??? THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY ARE MORE INFORMED ABOUT THESE BILLS THAN OUR SO-CALLED REPRESENTATIVES!

You do NOT need an attorney or a group of staff members...just about eight hours or so. Take a long bath, bring in the 1,500-page bill into the tub with you, lie back, relax, and read. You'll look like a prune at the end of your bathing session, but you will be INFORMED about what the heck you're signing! Of course, you will need to bring a pen with you as you circle the parts you do not agree with.

Then, armed with your new knowledge, you can go back to work and FIGHT LIKE HELL AGAINST THIS BILL. The American people are fighting....why are you rolling over like a subservient dog?
