CBS News’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation” today started the interview lamenting, “this is the story that just won’t go away.” That’s right. It WON’T go away because it is a true scandal. Schieffer proceeded to blow the lid off the Benghazi Scandal on his “Face the Nation” broadcast.

Schieffer talked with GOP “House Oversight and Government Reform Committee” Chair, Rep. Darrell Issa, about upcoming whistleblower testimony on the scandal. Schieffer actually said there is “new information about whether there was a cover-up by the State Department to deflect criticism that it had ignored requests for more security for its people in Libya.”

Schieffer then read from interview answers given to the House Committee by Greg Hicks – the U.S. No. 2 person in Libya – who said the pathetic display of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice five days after the attack going on five Sunday Shows to declare it was just a spontaneous demonstration was completely embarrassing, because she directly contradicted the President of Libya in saying so, “causing him to lose face with his own people and the world.”

The “Why?” of this whole mess is very clear: To protect Obama’s re-election in not wanting the idea of the “War on Terror” not being over to be uppermost in the minds of voters, and to uphold their misguided Leftist ideology that Islamic Terrorism is not a real threat to us. It’s reaping the whirlwind of misguided policies in this Presidency.

As Schieffer said, this is the story that is “not going away.”
