The Rotund Helmeted Personage Is Presently Singing Center-stage

I’m back in Hobble Creek after cleaning up Hurricane Sandy’s mess at our Ocean City residence. Two feet of floodwater in our first floor created a considerable ecological disaster- also taking out the hot water heater. Our flood insurance was (needless to say) useless, because FEMA didn’t consider our first floor living space. Oh, they did cover the gas furnace and our new American made $1090.14 Bradford White hot water heater (which I installed myself). However, the furnace only suffered from overwhelming condensation (which I dutifully dried out), and there was a $1000 deductible on the hot water heater. You do the math.

I should mention that some folks from FEMA came around (in addition to the flood insurance adjuster), and they basically said they were “from the government and here to help.” I took a tip from the Gipper and impolitely told them to get lost. I wasn’t in the mood for a handout from Barry Obama- especially after the thousands of dollars we’ve paid out in (apparently useless) flood insurance premiums over the years. Anyway, after two arduous weeks of landscaping, cleaning and painting (not to mention the plumbing adventure), the place looked better than before the flood- and without any help from Barry. I even painted the garage floor…

So yes, I survived the flood, but I’m not so sure about the election. No doubt the election was stolen. Mitt won. Guess you heard about the Black Panthers “stuffing the ballot box” in Philadelphia and all the other horror stories.

Our nation is no longer subject to the rule of law, unless you count the law of the jungle- which I don’t. A newsflash, folks! We are no longer a republic. We are now ruled by executive order- which socialist decrees are enforced by a morass of crooked politicians and common hoodlums.

I suppose Barry’s second coronation is not a done deal until after the Electoral College meets (unless the House of Representatives intervenes- which I seriously doubt), but the fat lady is singing. Perhaps I should be politically correct: “The rotund helmeted personage is presently singing center-stage.”

Comment by gmiller on November 30, 2012 at 9:34pm: I was looking into refi-ing my house. Bank said it is in a "flood zone" (news to me. Our area has NEVER been flooded in recorded history. I was told that FEMA "mandated it." When I checked the FEMA website, it said there was no flood requirement for my area. Yet, the lender sent an official looking document from FEMA claiming that there is. Insurance company wants $2600 more for flood "insurance" which has a sky high deductible and will only cover $250,000 max. Thanks, FEMA.
