Here is video of 9/11 family member Debra Burlingame describing how President Obama today turned his back on her and walked away after she confronted him about his Attorney General – Eric Holder – considering prosecution of the very men who interrogated Khalid Sheikh Muhammed to get key information that eventually led to the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Burlingame is the sister of Chip Burlingame, who piloted the plane that terrorists hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11.
Obama met with some of the 9/11 families today when he went to Ground Zero to place a wreath in honor of those killed in the World Trade Center Attacks on September 11.
Burlingame describes what happened. She told Obama:
“As a former attorney I know you can’t tell the Attorney General what to do. And he said, ‘No, I can’t.’ But I said ‘we — that shouldn’t stop you from offering your opinion. After all, we wouldn’t be here celebrating today if they hadn’t done their job. And they have the hammer of a possible indictment hanging over their heads. Can’t you at least give them your opinion.’ And he said ‘No I won’t,’ and he turned around and walked away.”
This kind of behavior is absolutely inexcusable. Burlingame confronted Obama over a travesty that is taking place. Those CIA interrogators were lawfully seeking to protect the United States. The job they did had much to do with the finding and killing of Osama Bin Laden. President Obama is quick to want to bask in the glow of what their work produced, but unwilling to even dialogue with a 9/11 family member who asks him to recognize the service they rendered.
