Ohio School Shooter TJ Lane Jailed For Life

Ohio teenager TJ Lane, who admitted killing three students in a high school cafeteria in February 2012, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The 18-year-old chuckled as the term was imposed for the deadly shootings at Chardon High School, 30 miles east of Cleveland.

After Lane arrived in court, he calmly unbuttoned his blue dress shirt to reveal the T-shirt reading "killer", which the prosecutor noted was similar to one he wore during the shooting.

At one point, Lane swivelled around in his chair toward the gallery where his own family and those of the slain teenagers were sitting and spoke only one sentence.

He made an obscene remark, then cursed at and stuck his middle finger up toward the victims' relatives.

The prosecutor said it just went to prove how much the killer is a "disgusting human being".

A student who was wounded in the shooting rampage dismissed Lane's outburst.

"He said it like a scared little boy and couldn't talk slow enough that anyone could understand him," said Nate Mueller, who was nicked in the ear in the shooting.

Dina Parmertor, mother of victim Daniel Parmertor, called Lane "a pathetic excuse for a human being" and wished upon him "an extremely, slow torturous death".

She said she has nightmares and her family has been physically sick over the crimes.

She said: "From now on, he will only be a killer. I want him to feel my anger toward him."

Prosecutors say Lane took a .22-caliber pistol and a knife to school and fired 10 shots at a group of students in the cafeteria. Daniel Parmertor and Demetrius Hewlin, both 16, and Russell King Jr, 17, were killed.

Lane had pleaded guilty in February this year to three counts of aggravated murder, among other charges, in a deal with prosecutors.

He was not eligible for the death penalty because he was 17 at the time of the shootings.

James Holmes, the gunman who massacred 12 people and left 58 others wounded in Aurora, Colorado last July 20, has decided he is now a Muslim so he can justify his barbarous assault. One prison source said, “He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his own personal jihad and that his victims were infidels.”

Holmes now prays five times a day, eats a strictly Muslim diet and has grown a thick beard. He also takes hours every day to study the Koran.

Breaking news out of Orlando, Florida– A former University of Central Florida student James Oliver Seevakumaran, age 30, shot himself in the head while in his dorm room he still resided in.

According to UCF Police Cheif Richard Beary, there were some pieces of literature penned by Mr. Seevakumaran that indicated a “planned attack” in his dorm room building. Seevakumaran laid out a time line, but did not give any specific details on the attack or mention of people he wanted to kill.

What the police found, along with Seevakumaran’s notes, was one “High Point 45-caliber semi-automatic pistol and … an American Tech 22-magnum tactical rifle,” along with a backpack full of uncompleted bombs.

Seevakumaran tried executing his attack first on his roommate, but failed. The roommate escaped and called 911. Police believe that because his first attempt failed and Seevakumaran could hear the police sirens outside, this led him to pull the trigger on himself.

This is not sad news. This is actually a good day, because whenever I hear a report about a mass shooting and the attackers turn the gun on themselves after they’ve killed dozens of people, I always think, “If only they did that to begin with.”

What is disturbing about this report is that a college campus, a supposed gun free zone, was housing this mass murderer. Allowing no one but the crazed mass murderer to store firearms and explosives in his dorm, leaving all the law-abiding, good citizens unarmed and vulnerable.

A call to action is needed. Students, demand to have the right to carry your firearm on campus. Let’s ban these gun free zones!

This morning, VA Rep. Frank Wolf convened a hearing of the Commerce Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee he chairs. The subject of the hearing was youth violence and, specifically, the role video games play in encouraging violent behavior. A star witness, however, Psychologist Brad J. Bushman, has a tendency to see lots of things contributing to violence. One paper he wrote a few years ago even found that exposure to Biblical stories caused an increase in violent behavior, especially among believers.

Psychologist Brad J. Bushman has made a career of out preconceived notions and sweeping generalizations. Bushman is best known co-authoring an article with Brigham Young Professor Robert Ridge entitled, “When God Sanctions Killing” which appeared in the March 2007 issue of Psychological Science magazine. The study found “compelling evidence that exposure to a scriptural depiction of violence or to violence authorized by deity can cause readers to behave more aggressively.”

Even though in the study Bushman et al even acknowledge a variety of factors could mitigate or cause violence, they persist with their conclusion. The Bible is the best-selling book of all times and more recently, a top TV show. So nearly everyone has been exposed to the Bible, so it has to be a factor.

The authors were quick to point out their study was not meant as Bible-bashing yet they compared followers to terrorists noting, “when you think about terrorists and they say, ‘God will sit in judgment,’ and they sometimes refer to a scripture, our question was, ‘Could that really make a person behave more aggressively?’ And the answer is, yes, it could.’”

If Mathew, Mark, Luke and John can cause violence, according to the logic of Dr. Bushman, it makes sense to believe that can “Call of Duty” can, as well.
