Beyond the obvious, I’d like to discuss yesterday’s winners and losers this morning- beginning with the latter.
The biggest loser last night was certainly Barry Obama- but there are a number of others. Topping my list are the people of California and New York- with both their states on the brink of economic collapse- and neither state in a position to expect any sympathy from the new House of Representatives. I extend condolences especially to the people of California. Without question, in the person of Jerry Brown, they have chosen an absolute fool to lead them.
Fourth place on my list of losers goes to the people of Nevada- who reelected Harry Reid to fix their staggering unemployment and other economic woes.
While the big winner last night was clearly our Taxed-Enough-Already coalition, topping my also-won list are the people of West Virginia- who wisely elected Joe Manchin to the Senate. Governor Manchin sounded more like a TEA Party candidate in his victory speech than Kentucky’s Rand Paul.
Next in my esteemed winners’ circle are Ohio and Illinois- whose repudiation of Obamanomics was absolutely stunning. Moreover, the Illinois Senate seat formerly held by the Kenyan imposter is now in the capable hands of Republican Mark Kirk- and the voters of Ohio have chosen the outstanding conservative John Kasich as governor. And yes, Ohio’s 8th District also reelected John Boehner. His emotional victory speech last night? Priceless.
While the Senate tally is 49 Dems to 46 Republicans, there are three Senate races still outstanding, so the remote possibility of a tie still exists- and a tie would go to the Taxed-Enough-Already, because of Senator-elect Joe Manchin.
And while I absolutely detest Lisa Murkowski, even if that obnoxious woman wins- she’s still a Republican. That leaves Washington and Colorado. However, I do recognize that both Senate independents caucus with the Dems, namely Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
So the current TEA Party tally, discounting the aforementioned independents, is really 49 for Harry Reid and 47 for us- as we patiently await results in Washington and Colorado. Close, eh?
However, I must also point out that Libertarian Maclyn Stringer’s 20,000 plus votes in Colorado would have ensured a victory for the Republican Ken Buck. This is a clear message to the Taxed-Enough-Already that our issues must be addressed within the two-party system. Future TEA Party victories will emanate from both Republican and Democrat primaries.
Also Republican Dino Rossi in Washington trails Dem Michael Bennet by only a few thousand votes. Any third-party conservative assuredly would have handed an easy victory to the Dem Patty Murray.
And Delaware’s O’Donnell? Yes, it would have been great if Christine had defeated the liberal Coons- but don’t feel cheated by her loss, folks. We did it exactly the right way- but Christine lost. That’s baseball…
That brings me to Senator Reid’s dubious victory in Nevada. Yes, Harry will likely continue as the Senate majority leader- but his margin of leverage over minority leader Mitch McConnell is now almost insignificant. Moreover, Dirty Harry will serve as a Republican punching bag at least through 2012. In any case, Bruce Wayne’s story would be painfully boring without the Joker…
In summary, the individual victories for the TEA Party yesterday are far too numerous to cover here. Overwhelming victory in the House. Eleven more states with Republican governors- with 16 yet too close to call. Huge gains in state legislatures- many flipping into Republican control. Best of all, the Senate is now evenly divided.
Yes, Barack Hussein Obama was soundly defeated yesterday. The national referendum on his errant policies, questionable eligibility and failed Presidency has resulted in a tumultuous repudiation by the American people. What more could we ask? The Fox map was painted RED last night! Yes, stunning!
Doug Powers notes that we’ll be spending about $200 million per day on Obama’s visit to Mumbai. “About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists will accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already (there) with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments.”
So yer outta here, Barry? I note you have added Indonesia to your itinerary- and I believe your Indonesian citizenship, perhaps your only legitimate citizenship, is still in force. Oui, Bonne journée, Barack- but as you embark on yet another vacation abroad, I sincerely ask that you consider doing us all a great favor by never coming back…
