Marine Corps Veteran Questions DHS on Huge Ammo Buys

“We never trained with hollow points, why would the need all those ball rounds just for training?”

(Info Wars) – A military veteran has questioned why the Department of Homeland Security is purchasing enormous amounts of ammunition, making it clear that he believes the bullets cannot possibly be for training purposes.

Commenting on the DHS’s procurement of roughly 2 billion hollow point bullets over the course of the last year, former Marine Richard Mason told reporters with WHPTV News in Pennsylvania that he has serious concerns.

“We never trained with hollow points, we didn’t even see hollow points my entire four and a half years in the Marine Corps,” Mason said.

When questioned recently, DHS official Peggy Dixon claimed the bullets were bought in bulk to save money and were for training purposes only. However, hollow point bullets, are very expensive in ammunition terms, and it is highly unusual to use such bullets for target practice.

“Why would they need all those hollow points,” former marine Mason asked “why would they need all those ball rounds just for training?”

Record federal government purchases have coincided with national shortages of ammunition in gun stores, leading some to believe that it is a deliberate tactic to deprive gun owners, or something much worse.

To put the DHS’ ammunition solicitations in perspective, during the height of active battle operations in Iraq, US soldiers used 5.5 million rounds of ammunition a month. Extrapolating the figures, the DHS has purchased enough bullets over the last year to wage a full scale war for almost 30 years.

Last September, the DHS also purchased no less than 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles, labeling them “Personal Defense Weapons.”

Purchases of large quantities of body armor by the DHS has also caused shortages. Last year, the agency also put out an urgent order for “riot gear” in anticipation of civil unrest. The agency has also ordered bullet-proof checkpoint booths and hired hundreds of new security guards to protect government buildings over the course of the last 12 months.

There is also strong evidence to suggest that the DHS has recently bought around 2,700 armored military style trucks. The agency has also cemented a $2 million dollar relationship with a contractor that recently had to apologize for producing shooting targets of pregnant women, children and elderly gun owners depicted in residential settings.

Coupled with continued and sustained secrecy surrounding these purchases and contracts, many Americans are convinced that the federal government is “stockpiling” in preparation for “civil unrest.”

The DHS’ primary concern is now centered around thwarting “homegrown terrorism,” but information produced and used by the DHS to train its personnel routinely equates conservative and libertarian political ideology with domestic extremism.

A study funded by the Department of Homeland Security that was leaked last year characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists. Many other recent similar government and law enforcement publications, papers and studies have also pushed this notion.

As we explained in a recent article, generating mass social dislocation has been an admitted tool used by the World Bank and the IMF to create the necessary chaos to loot major economies.

As respected investigative reporter Greg Palast exposed in 2001, the World Bank and the IMF have honed a technique that has allowed them to asset-strip numerous other countries in the past – that technique has come to be known at the “IMF riot,” a process of scaring off investors and causing government bankruptcies by fostering unrest.

Exclusive: Erik Rush decries how 'a radical Marxist' is ruling his state by proxy

On March 4, despite hundreds of Coloradans flooding the State Capitol in Denver and honking horns on the streets that encircle the building all day long, and the presence of 25 county sheriffs opposed to seven Democratic gun-control proposals, the measures all passed the Colorado House along party-line votes. Democrats currently control both houses of the Colorado legislature, as well as the governor’s office. Legislators’ testimony during the hearings was replete with smug, ignorant sanctimony, blithering idiocy and outright lies.

The Democrat members of the Colorado legislature have shown themselves to be enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America and the people of the state of Colorado. What occurred in Colorado on that day was nothing short of a disgusting outrage and a chilling precursor of things to come.

Two factors regarding this development are particularly distressing. The first is the revelation that the Colorado legislature is lousy with knee-jerk dullards who operate at the level of those who suspend grade-school children from school for possessing napkins and toaster pastries that bear rudimentary resemblance to firearms. As has become clear in recent weeks, many are themselves from the ranks of low-information voters with scant knowledge of the Constitution, or progressive zealots who seek to abolish same.

The second factor is the influence of President Barack Hussein Obama writ large on the whole affair. As we know, Vice President Biden personally leaned on Colorado legislators last month in an effort to tip the national conversation on gun rights in progressives’ favor. Thus, with sanction from the White House itself, these legislators forged ahead with what they wanted – not what was legal or popular – in typical autocratic progressive fashion.

Colorado voters are now anxiously wondering what the position of their chief public executive, John Hickenlooper, will be. Considering the Democratic governor once called Obama a “rock star,” I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for his doing the right thing.

When I escaped New York for Colorado years ago, I certainly did not expect it to become ground zero for the assault on the Second Amendment, and the idea that the state in which I live is essentially being ruled from afar by a radical Marxist is quite worrisome. If the people of Colorado, a state with a tradition of rugged individualism and liberty, do not rebound fiercely as a result of this obscenity, then the state will indeed become California (a long-held fear of many natives and transplants alike) in very short order.

The stark difference between what Colorado was and what it is rapidly becoming is easier to see here than other states, since Colorado’s heritage and history more resemble that of Texas than New York or California. Given that, I pray it has become clear to Coloradans that they must now undertake a wholesale eradication of progressive policy from the governance of their state.

It is no secret among conservatives that for the last several years, Colorado has been a chief target of one high-profile progressive billionaire and former Nazi collaborator (George Soros) through his various radical astroturf political organizations. With this aid, and through the aforementioned methods, the White House effectively subverted Colorado’s legislative processes and is ruling by proxy, while maintaining the illusion of legitimate due process.

What concerns me most about the developments in Colorado and other states vis-à-vis firearms laws is that this progression has brought us that much closer to law-enforcement officials showing up at citizens’ homes and demanding their guns. Raised in the same environment as the rest of us, many peace officers won’t realize that they are operating well outside of the law.

And that’s when things will have the potential to get really ugly.

On Jan. 6, 2013, Nathan Haddad, a former Army staff sergeant and decorated combat veteran, was selling some gun magazines when he was arrested for violating a new New York state law prohibiting possession of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Haddad was charged with five felonies.

The officers who arrested Haddad, and those prosecuting him have shown themselves to be enemies of the Constitution and the people of the United States of America. Officials who enforce immoral laws are no better than Hitler’s Gestapo. Where, pray tell, do they plan to draw the line at what unlawful decrees they will and will not uphold?

Very soon, we are likely to hear of an individual who, upon being contacted by law enforcement, winds up in a firefight with them over their enforcement of newly implemented gun-control measures. Law-enforcement officers may be wounded or killed, as might our citizen. If arrested, he or she will be a political prisoner. This will be the final nail in the coffin for legal firearms ownership in America, as the government and the press will capitalize upon this event (and perhaps similar others) to prove once and for all that all gun owners are potential psycho cop killers.

Why does the government (and the Obama administration in particular) want Americans’ firearms? Because they know that they are already guilty of prosecutable crimes and are planning many more. They know that they represent precisely why America’s founders put the Second Amendment in the Constitution in the first place, and that they already merit being removed by force of arms. They simply want to disarm Americans before a preponderance of us come to that realization and respond accordingly.

When the Obama administration during its “War on Women” propaganda campaign was parading Sandra Fluke—the so-called “contraception girl”—on the red carpet leading to the White House, the Leftist blog Think Progress was leading the charge to take Obama’s Public Enemy Number One Rush Limbaugh off the air because of his Sandra Fluke “whore” comments.

Obama’s attack dog Media Matters then began literally feeding the mainstream media its talking points, all to ensure Obamacare would not be derailed by the “noise” of federal funding of contraception and abortifacients.

And of course, the third part of the unholy leftist trinity, the Center for American Progress, run by Bill Clinton’s former chief of staff John Podesta—considered the “brain” of the radical Left—was running the whole “War on Women” marionette show.

But behind the scenes of his marionette show, Podesta had bigger fish to fry.

Just off the heels of the debt ceiling crisis—part of the so-called sequestration debacle the Obama administration has been wringing their hands about lately—John Podesta was jumping for joy in the one hundred page position paper Rebalancing Our National Security. Written following the Obama-manufactured debt ceiling crisis, the paper touted the Budget Control Act of 2011’s gutting of the military to the tune of almost five hundred billion dollars over the next ten years, not the measly $86 billion sequestration cuts Obama has been wringing his hands about.

You can almost hear Podesta giggling in the background as he discusses how the military was being gutted:

The debate in Washington over security spending this year is being driven mostly by the Budget Control Act of 2011, the debt reduction deal that averted a government shutdown last summer. The law mandates about $1 trillion in cuts to federal government discretionary spending over 10 years beginning in fiscal year 2012, including $487 billion in Pentagon cuts…

…The “sequester” came in to play after Congress failed to reach an agreement on how to legislate the deficit reduction at the end of last year…The members of our Task Force agree with the near-universal consensus that sequestration is more about political maneuvering than sound budgeting practice. But we argue that the amount of cuts to the Pentagon budget mandated by both parts of the debt deal is readily achievable with no sacrifice to our security—if the cuts are done in a thoughtful manner over the next decade. We also agree that some of those savings in the U.S. defense budget should be redeployed to other parts of the federal government, specifically to those non-military programs that help our nation defend the homeland and prevent global crises from escalating into military confrontations…

Where should the gutted defense budget be “redeployed” to per Podesta? Not the $500 billion as proposed, but his call for one trillion dollars in cuts? Being a globalist, as expected, redistribution of wealth to the global community, with the United Nations no doubt holding the purse strings:

Our Task Force plan outlines an alternative trajectory for spending on offense and prevention that would achieve the benchmark of $1 trillion in military cuts over 10 years. This framework provides $123 billion for international affairs over 10 years. It would increase spending on diplomacy during this period by 28 percent more than the president’s request, and increase spending on development and humanitarian assistance by 40 percent.

It is clear then, looking at the one trillion dollars in cuts over the next ten years, that these so-called “draconian” $86 billion sequestration cuts are simply a sham.

There are four things that are apparent from the Obama administration’s antics and its partner in crime, Center for American Progress:

1. During the debt ceiling crisis, Obama knew the “super committee” would fail and the sequestration deal would go forward.

2. Obama knew the $86 billion sequestration cuts were just a drop in the bucket to the real cuts that were mandated by the Budget Control Act of 2011.

3.Obama knew that the Republican Congress would not table the sequestration, and it would go forward.

4. Obama planned on hyping up the sequestration cuts, blaming the Republicans with his allies in the mainstream media, with the goal of retaking the House of Representatives in 2014.

With Obama controlling both the House and Senate in 2014, this would allow the gutting of the military to go through. This would allow Obama to push any agenda through Congress, no matter how radical—including gutting the Second Amendment—thus allowing him to complete his “fundamental transformation” of America—that is, a Marxist utopia.

But America won’t go willingly. Obama would have to orchestrate the mother of all of his orchestrated crises.

Enter George Soros, who just happens to fund the leftist unholy trinity Think Progress, Media Matters, and Center for American Progress.

Soros also just happens to be a felon, convicted of insider trading. Soros, dubbed “The Man Who Broke the Bank of England,” funneled hundreds of millions of dollars out of the British economy with the collapse of the British pound and is now trying make money with the collapse the Euro.

And of course, Soros is a fixture at the White House.

But Obama and George Soros are after bigger fish than collapsing currencies.

The stock market in recent days has been at record levels. Many have predicted a stock market crash—losing up to 90% of its value—although those on the hard Left, especially our friend George Soros, won’t say it openly.

Soros has dumped most of his stock in the banking industry and is stockpiling a massive amount of gold. Soros has a secret that he is keeping wraps on: If the stock market crashes, the economy itself will collapse.

With unemployment at high levels, with an unsustainable welfare state pushed to its limits, and with our national debt approaching seventeen trillion, a stock market crash would make the crash of 1929 look like child’s play.

It would collapse our economy in a matter of days, if not hours.

What would occur if the economy collapses?

Food and water shortages. Civil disorder. Riots.

And of course, a call for martial law.

And the Obama administration knows this—“coincidentally” signing an executive order last year that gives Obama dictatorial power in the event of a “national emergency.”

Is this why the Obama administration has stockpiled two billion rounds of ammunition?

Is this why the Obama administration has been frantically trying to ban assault weapons while quietly stockpiling the same weapons?

Is this why the Obama administration has been stockpiling light armored tanks?

Is this why the Obama administration has ordered a fleet of “public safety” drones, able to pick up cell phone traffic, able to identify whether the target—that is, an American citizen—is armed or not—with the ability to be easily outfitted with missiles?

Is this why the Obama administration has drafted a secret memo that gives Obama the authority to execute a drone strike on any U.S. citizen, at any time, anywhere, without proof, without due process, accountable to no one?

And of course, Eric Holder this week finally admitted that yes, Obama can murder an American citizen on American soil with a drone—in “extraordinary circumstances.”

“Extraordinary circumstances” would be American citizens who are against Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America.

Here’s the possible worst case scenario: Obama successfully spins the sequestration “draconian” cuts as being the fault of the Republicans and takes back the House of Representatives in 2014. This allows him to push anything through, including gutting the military, expanding the welfare state, placing America under an increased surveillance nanny state with drones keeping track of everyone’s movements, and ticking up the national debt to an unsustainable level—nearing $20 trillion.

Then Obama, Soros, and the gaggle of leftist globalist pull some type of monetary switch to crash the U.S. stock market. Our economy then implodes in a matter of days, if not hours; and Obama, with his martial law executive order in hand steps up to his teleprompter and beams to every home in America his call for “temporary” martial law.

During this period of martial law, Obama would specifically target those “clinging to their guns and religion”—that is, conservatives—confiscating guns and using drones to spy on and kill the “domestic terrorists.”

When the “national emergency” was over, Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America would be complete, with a Marxist utopia safely in place.

Is this all a conspiracy theory? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

America Is In The Throes Of A Burgeoning Police State

What is it going to take for pastors and churches to wake up and realize that America is in the throes of a burgeoning police state? Ladies and gentlemen, the long-standing veneration for law and order does not include blind submission to governmental abuse of power. Yet, it seems that very few Christian conservatives are even paying attention to what is happening before their very eyes.

For example, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has purchased over 2 billion rounds of hollow-point ammunition (enough to wage a 30-year war); the DHS has purchased over 7,000 AR-15s. The DHS calls them Personal Defense Weapons (PDW). These are the same semi-automatic rifles with high capacity magazines that when you and I buy them are called “assault rifles.” Plus, the DHS has purchased over 2,700 armored vehicles, the same kind that the US military uses in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Department of Defense (DOD) calls them MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected). They carry .50 caliber weapons that fire from inside the vehicle. The vehicle itself is impervious to mines and small-arms fire. They are the vehicle of choice for our combat troops in the Middle East.

Pray tell, why does the DHS need that kind of firepower? And who do they anticipate using all of this firepower on?

If all of that isn’t disconcerting enough, we have now learned that the DHS has spent 2 million dollars on producing shooting targets of American gun owners. These are called “non-traditional threat” targets. They include pregnant women, elderly citizens, mothers in playgrounds, and even little children. These targets are produced by a company called Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. The company calls these targets “No More Hesitation” targets.

What is the DHS planning to do? Turn the entire continental United States into one big giant Waco?

Can one imagine the reaction by the DHS if a company was producing shooting targets depicting law enforcement officers?

I guess another question I have is who are the people whose faces appear on these targets? Did they know they were being photographed to be used on a shooting target? Or were their images photoshopped? Whose mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, daughter, son, and child are being used for these targets? I wonder how many Americans whose loved ones appear on these targets know that the photographs of their family members are being used as targets for DHS agents to shoot at. And how would any of you like it if those targets bore the photographs of YOUR loved ones?

This is bizarre! If this wasn’t so very, very real, one would think that it was one big practical joke. But it is no joke!

While our own domestic federal police department (a blatantly unconstitutional entity, by the way) is arming itself to the teeth, our President and Vice President are in a full-court press trying to disarm the American citizenry of their most effective and efficient self-defense tool: the semi-automatic rifle. Are we supposed to believe that all of this is mere coincidence? It is true that I was born in the morning, but it was not yesterday morning!

Adding to our cause for concern is the way our veterans are being treated (or should I say mistreated) by the federal government. As far back as 2009, returning Iraq and Afghan War veterans have been labeled as potentially “dangerous extremists” by the DHS (along with people who are pro-life; people who support Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and yours truly; people who believe the US should get out of the UN; people who are opposed to the “New World Order;” people who believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ; etc.). Today, more and more veterans are being labeled with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and other such names, and being told that they are not fit to possess a firearm.

In addition, under President Obama’s recent Executive Order, physicians, both military and civilian, are quizzing their patients regarding firearms and have the potential authority to write a derogatory diagnosis about a patient that could be used as an excuse for the government to deny his or her right to keep and bear arms. (If you have a physician that asks you any questions regarding firearms, my advice is to find another doctor immediately!)

My friends, our country is being transformed into an Orwellian society right before our eyes! All the while, most pastors and churches seem to be completely oblivious to it. And, of course, most of the reporters and journalists in the mainstream media are nothing more than compliant propagandists for anything Big-Government. The same is true for most educators in our major colleges and universities.

But it is the apathy, indifference, and blindness of our pastors and churches that is the most disconcerting. The most influential group of leaders in America is still the pastors--the trend away from traditional churches notwithstanding. There are over 300,000 evangelical churches in the United States. Can one imagine what would happen in this country if half of these pastors would get up in their pulpits this Sunday and sound the clarion call to stand up and fight these insidious encroachments against our liberties? What if 25% would? What would happen if only 10% would rise up and take a stand?

Dear Christian friend, how can you stay in a church where the pastor will not take a stand for your liberties? How can you give such a church your tithes and offerings? Do you not realize that any pastor and church that refuses to fight and protect your liberties is helping to put the shackles of tyranny and oppression around the necks of your families?

Regardless of how sound you believe your pastor to be doctrinally, or how educated he is, or how much Hebrew and Greek he knows, or how warm and caring he is, or how much you personally like him, if he is not willing to take a public stand for your liberties, he is a willing accomplice to the demise of our republic and the rise of totalitarianism in this land--as surely as the pastors of Germany were accomplices to the rise of Hitler’s Third Reich!

Christian, please wake up! A police state is being constructed before your very eyes. Your liberties are being systematically expunged. While you are waving your hands and praising Jesus, the enemies of liberty are laying the nets and traps around your homes and communities that are going to be used to enslave you. While you are fixated on your pastor and church staying doctrinally pure, the barbed-wire fences are being built around the camps in which your children and grandchildren will be incarcerated. While you sit comfortably on the padded pews in your heated and air conditioned church sanctuary and listen to an inspiring sermon that makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over, the sacred principles that protect your right to freely worship, and speak, and defend your family are disappearing.

Beyond that, not only are many thousands of pastors not resisting this emerging police state; they are actively and enthusiastically joining with the big-government toadies in helping to eviscerate our freedoms. Is your pastor one of these? If so, you might as well be listening to sermons written by Joseph Goebbels.

Big-Government propagandists love to couch submission to oppression under the guise of patriotic duty to law and order. But submission to oppression is not patriotic; it is imbecilic! And make no mistake about it: the attempt to outlaw, ban, and confiscate our firearms, especially our semi-automatic rifles, has nothing to do with law and order; it has everything to do with overt oppression. To such an egregious encroachment against our liberty there can be no submission, only determined, resolute resistance.

With would-be tyrants attacking our liberties with such a vengeance, and with such a ubiquitous display of apathy and indifference by most pastors and churches, my constitutional attorney son and I have written a brand new book entitled, “To Keep Or Not To Keep: Why Christians Should Not Give Up Their Guns.” This book is sure to be a blockbuster!

All this talk about submitting to the government NO MATTER WHAT is simply a bunch of propagandist-hooey! And dear Christian friend, if your pastor is teaching this fallacy, not only is he teaching a serious error, he is an enemy to freedom! Get out of his church immediately! He has sold his soul to tyrants; and he is leading your family into tyranny.

Our country is being turned into a police state. What is it going to take for pastors and churches to awaken to this stark reality? Christian, please wake up!

The founders of our nation knew that if the government was allowed to be the judge, the jury and the executioner, the people would become victims of tyranny. They also understood that the concentration of power was potentially dangerous power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. When a government that writes the law also has the power to interpret the law and to enforce the law, the people become victims of tyranny.

The purpose of a just laws are to promote liberty and to protect property. The purpose of unjust laws is to allow governments to legalize the plunder of other people's property. According to the Supreme Court in Marbury vs Madison 1803 laws that are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.

The Constitution was written to protect the rights rights of the people not give the government the power to control the people. They knew that if the government that was supposed to be our servant would one day become our master. They knew that power corrupts and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. They understood that those in power would to write laws that would benefit themselves personally as well as their partners in crime..

They designed our government to have limited power. They did not want the government that they had just created to endanger the life, liberty and property of the people. That is why in Article I Section 8 of the Constitution they sought to control the government by limiting the legislative authority of Congress to an area not to exceed ten miles square. The jurisdiction of our federal government does not exist outside to the territory known as the District of Columbia.

Before the ink on Constitution had dried, there were those in high places that sought to use the Constitution to create an empire in America,. These individuals, led by Alexander Hamilton, knew that if the Constitution were to be strictly followed they would be unable to achieve their objectives.

Hamilton and his disciples were determined to have the Constitution interpreted in a manner that would enable them to achieve their goals. The founders believed the newly formed government should only have the authoirty that was specifically granted to them in Article I Section 8. Hamilton believed that there were powers that were not delegated but were implied.

Most of the problems we have today are the result of the acceptance of the idea that the government can do whatever our leaders feel are necessary and proper. This doctrine of Implied Powers has allowed our government to assume powers and authority beyond those delegated to them in the Constitution.
