IN MEMORIAM

Today, in 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger

exploded just seconds after lift-off.

All seven crew members were killed.

I was In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sitting in the Hilton bar with the Caddo parish tax assessor, Charles Hennington. We were watching it live on the TV as it happened. I was there for the Louisiana tax assessor convention, being the president/CEO of the mapping company that was doing work for them at the time. Unfortunately, he and many members of his staff (also friends), were killed in a plane crash very soon afterwards. I still reflect on my past and how bizarre the historical events all were.

As an interesting side note, when Ronald Reagan (governor of California), before he was president of our nation, he passed through my art show display at bthe Barnwell Art and Garden Center, Shreveport, LA, mid-70's.
