VETERANS DAY

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row

They mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

As a sibling group, Christian, Heath, Trevor and Shoshannah Jenni are unbelievable American heroes- and my military record pales in comparison. I may be their father, but I take no credit whatsoever for their bravery, patriotism and dedication to duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. All four are combat veterans, all tested in in the heat of battle- and all having repeatedly risked their lives for their country. To simply say I am proud of them falls far short of the mark. There are no words to express how I feel about my warrior children. It is enough for me that I was privileged to wear the US Army uniform during the Vietnam War. May God bless them- and all our men and women in uniform- and may God forever bless America.

Allan, many are blessed to have even one child serving our country, but to have four is remarkable to say the least. If you and your wife only had these four offspring and nothing material, or no other accomplishments, you would be blessed beyond belief! May God continue to bless you for the wonderful set of values you obviously instilled in them as they grew up, and also for your service preceding them. I am proud to call you my friend!
