Comment by Peter Meis on February 13, 2012 at 3:54pm: The best thing that I have always loved about Whitney was the fact that she knew how to sing the national anthem correctly, that is, she made BANNER a two-syllable word, which it is, instead of a three-syllable word, which it is not.

We will always have the clowns and the garbage people asked to sing it, when they don't know how, and apparently, one does not have to audition to sing it, either. I have told people for a long time how Whitney sang our song, and it is very appropriate that it is posted here. Thank you to someone. I downloaded both versions.

If you want to hear another great version, watch the CACTUS CUTIES from Texas, the five little girls you see there. They should bring tears to your eyes.

Last year, I contacted MLB a month before the All-Star Game, asking them to get someone who knew the song, but, they got another clown to sing. It always happens at football games and basketball games, besides baseball. Those people in charge really don't care.
