Comment by PHILIP SCHNEIDER on January 21, 2010 at 4:51pm: It was just yesterdaywhen Pelosi announced that she would be going ahead with getting the health care bill ready for a vote even noting and congratulating Scott Brown on his election.
Pelosi and the democrats have not even thought about quitting or giving up on health care and won't until they get something passed. What they ARE doing is plotting a new course through the political mine field trying to avoid creating a BOMB crater for democrats to fall into before the elections in November.
They don't want to go down in US history as the congress that screwed things up for the first black president and it wouldn't look right for the first black president to have to wash the collective feet of a newly elected republican controlled congress.
I'm curious about that . . . . . what WILL happen when Obama becomes a lame duck president after only 2 years?? Would he entertain retiring and letting "Good ole Joe" finish out his term?
