Are you looking for an exact number? Because you're not going to find it.

There are levels of government city laws, county laws, State laws, and finally federal laws. Different cities, counties, and States may have similar -but different- laws, and they all fall under federal law.

Actually, the proper question would be how many federal crimes are there?The US Justice Department is your best source to keep tract of this total. The fact there are so many criminal laws, the odds of no one breaking one in a lifetime are so astronomical, it would make DNA odds look like simple math.

Since the start of 2000, Congress has created at least 452 new crimes. So the total number of Federal crimes as of the end of 2007 exceeds 4,450. Ninety-one of the 452 were contained in new laws that created 279 new crimes, and the remaining were contained in amendments to existing laws.The total of 452 new crimes breaks down by year as follows: 65 for 2000; 28 for 2001; 82 for 2002; 51 for 2003; 48 for 2004; 13 for 2005; 145 for 2006; 20 for 2007. The Appendix to this report lists all the federal statutes containing new crimes.

Some, get together and learn to shoot. There is a wealth of information on canning, storing food and how to have clean water and to vent just like here. There is no want of violence. None and as a matter of fact want to do everything NOT to have it. There are groups that help people get to safe place if TEOTWAWKI or the SHTF and they could be in harms way, and undergound of sorts. I think Renos people who were at my house wanted us to be more. They were asking questions too many. They probably think we are dangerous when its just the opposite we are not advocating any violence. Only to help people survive and rebuild this country in a non violent way. check out your state for yourself you could learn a lot and its free. Or see if there is a preppers club near you, I have one near me. Its people who love the Republic and want to make sure others like us stay out of harms way. Put it this way the tea party and 9/12ers as Im of both are the same as WRAM but more military retired is into it. Kathryn, there is so much stacked against us that you must get as much information and learn how to be safe. Like if your stuck where you are, Board up your home and leave only a back way out and in and guard it. Throw furniture out the front door and make it look like it was already ransacked and destroyed, burn a few things to make it look like there was a fire, tear up some stuff and make it like everything is gone inside. Dont cook if you have people around as smells would send hungry people to your door. Have dried food. Make sure you have extra tarps to keep one room warm if there is not heat. I could go on but you get the idea. Learn Holistic approaches to healing. Dont be scared be prepared.

Remember the same thing, a drug dealer who was shot in the butt and these guys went to jail for several years and then to a half way house like THEY were the drug dealers needing to be in a half way house. This under Bush so Kathryn, to humbly trying to answer your question about why Congress wont do anything its because they are in on it. Repub and Democrat. I wrote and told the two wives how sorry I was that their country let them down. I didnt understand it and I was so angry. They both sent me letters back. I have them still and along with it a yellow ribbon with their names on it. I have it now with me as I type this. I sit here and cry my heart out some days. I feel so helpless to see this going on. I love this country and fear this country, I fear a Hitler moment will be upon us. Muslims are getting a pass and Christians are having their crosses, and even in their private schools asked to take down their pictures of Jesus and the Cross is offensive. IM offended. I wear several crosses now and keep one big one on the front of my home. I will not stand down on this. I will not. These people are sperm of the devil himself. Look at them!
