Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has shut down a heckler who was shouting out questions about Bill Clinton’s sex scandals during an appearance on her campaign trail.

Mrs Clinton encountered the heckler during an event in Derry, New Hampshire.

The woman began shouting out at Mrs Clinton after she said she was going to take questions from the crowd.

Without waiting to be called upon the woman began hollering at Mrs Clinton about her husband.

“I’m not going to take your question,” Mrs Clinton responded to her before moving onto a different audience member.

When the woman did not subside Mrs Clinton turned to her again.

“You are very rude and I’m not gonna ever call on you, thank you,” she said, to cheers from the crowd.

The heckler was later identified as a GOP state representative, Katherine Prudhomme O’Brien.

Ms O’Brien told CNN she was trying to ask Mrs Clinton about her husband’s history with sexual assault accusations, as one of the candidate’s campaign plans was to address sexual assault among women.

“I asked her how in the world she can say that Juanita Broderick and Kathleen Wiley are lying when she has no idea who Juanita Broderick is,” Ms O'Brien said, referring to women who have accused Mr Clinton of sexually assaulting them.

“She told me this summer she doesn't know who she is and doesn't want to know who she is. How can she assess that they are lying – which she told someone last month?”
