UNAWARE OF TERROR: DIR. James Clapper OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE

U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was caught flat-footed in an interview when asked his thoughts on the London Terror Arrests that had occurred earlier in the day. After several moments of awkward silence, Cheif Counter-terrorism Adviser John Brennan answered for him. Clapper admitted he was not aware of the arrests later in the interview. However, his office has issued a statement saying the question was “ambiguous,” and that Clapper has “profound” knowledge of the terrorist threat streams coming out of Europe.
