White House hides 78% increase in premium costs until after election

The Obama administration finally unveiled its "new and improved" version of healthcare.gov site last week. The new online face of Obama's illegal, trillion-dollarhealth care takeover is not as utterly dysfunctional, incompetent, or embarrassing as the original (which cost taxpayers $2.1 billion). But, as Investors' Business Dailyreported on Tuesday, something is conspicuously absent from the site: The prices.

This is by design. Despite everything we were told about this law, it has exploded premiums and health care costs for consumers across the board, and voters are being deliberately kept from seeing just how bad it is until after the election. Premium costs will now conveniently be kept off the site until the second week of November.

Similarly, the "open enrollment" period, during which Democrats "rescue" those who became uninsured because of Obamacare (while congratulating themselves on their wildly exaggerated '7 million enrollments' number--which is still only a tiny fraction of the uninsured), has been moved up 45 days to November 15th. The employer mandate and 6.3 million policy cancellations have also been delayed until after the election.

According to HealthPocket, a nonpartisan health insurance research company, Obamacare has increased premium costs for some consumers by a stunning 78%, just in its first year alone. This is due partly to Obamacare banning insurers from charging women more, even though they use more health care services. It is also due to the one-size-fits-all government approach to health plans, which absurdly requires everyone to purchase a myriad of things they don't want or need--like maternity and newborn coverage for men and the elderly.

The hardest hit are 23-year-old men, who are being charged 78 percent more this year than they were in 2013; 23-year-old women pay a paltry 45 percent more in 2014 than they did before Obamacare. The picture isn’t much rosier for 30-year-olds, though: The average premium rose 73 percent for men, and 35 percent for women...

...For the 63-year-old age group, just two years away from Medicare eligibility, men were dealt a 22.7 percent increase, while women’spremiums are 37.5 percent higher.

As I have noted, virtually every single thing we were told about this law has turned out to be a lie. It does not reduce costs. It does not reduce federal spending. You can't keep your plan or your doctor. Contrary to incessant partisan cheer-leadingby the Non-Fox Media, Obamacare has now had to be unilaterally (illegally) re-written 24 separate times, and is proving to be an inescapable disaster.
