The END GAME of Obamacare . . . . you must comply "OR ELSE".

Health insurers have been handed thousands of pages health mandates by the Obama administration. Those mandates are S L O W L Y being released to the  public to avoid a national revolution. Here's an example:

	Message from Bruce Van Cleave, MD, and David Smith, MD: Wellness credit update Fellow Aurora caregivers: Aurora has come a long way in our wellness journey these past few years. It's gratifying to see caregivers seize control of their well-being through Health Risk Assessments, taking time to exercise, eating right, not smoking and being protected against the flu. Our caregivers have asked for resources and we've responded, allowing both our caregivers and patients to benefit. Yet there is much work yet to be done. You have probably heard about the national concern with obesity.  It is a growing epidemic with real health risks that go far beyond one's physical appearance. Obesity is a factor in diabetes, high blood pressure and joint problems, just to name a few. It is a concern at Aurora as well.  Not only are we caring for more patients with these issues, but we know that our caregivers are dealing with weight concerns of their own. Nearly two thirds of our caregivers are either overweight or obese. (Click here for a table that shows what height and weight are considered healthy.) And what is as concerning is that as a caregiver group, we are worse (or heavier) than the national average. Along with this, we also know that nearly all caregivers could do a better job with their nutrition, and that many could get more exercise.   While our number one concern is the desire for our caregivers to live long, healthy lives, caregiver obesity also has implications for Aurora from a financial standpoint. Annually we spend $250 million — that's a quarter of a billion dollars — on our own health care costs. That amount rises as our caregivers seek treatment for the adverse effects of all that weight. Aurora's strategic plan requires us to responsibly manage our resources. Where every dollar counts, something needs to change. That's why we've come up with a plan to help caregivers focus on their weight, based on best practices of other nationally renowned organizations. You'll recall that in the past to earn wellness credit toward your medical premium, you needed to certify that you are tobacco free and also complete the HRA. You'll still need to do those two things, but "to get full wellness credit in 2014, you will need to complete a third component — to be measured for weight in 2013 and either meet the target or take advantage of resources intended to help you get there." In layman's language that means, if you don't weigh the right amount for your sex, height, and age, they will not cover your health care costs. For those who will need these resources, we've carefully chosen ones that are proven to help people lose weight. Activities will vary in intensity and commitment required, and caregivers will be free to choose based on their unique situation. We believe there will be a good option for everyone who wants it, and there will be plenty of time to make a positive change. Yes, losing weight can be hard. It can seem impossible. Many have tried and repeatedly failed. But regardless of where you are today, we believe you can be better tomorrow, and losing just a little weight can bring about important benefits.
