The Democratic Party Equals the Party of Funny Money and Fuzzy Math

The New York Post had two articles of interest this morning:

New York State received roughly $500 million in stimulus money, and it actually managed to create 54 new jobs for all this money. With an ROI like that, we're all sure to be bankrupt in a few years. Naturally, there are some explanations given: (1) subcontractors got business from this; (2) companies are holding the money in their coffers (earning likely the grand sum of interest banks are now paying); (3) some money found its way into the coffers of nefarious folks who abound when the government gives out "free money"; and so on with any and all excuses imaginable.

The last sentence of the article reads:

White House economist Jared Bernstein said, "It is too soon to draw any global conclusions from this partial and preliminary data. It reports on just $16 billion of the $339 billion in Recovery Act efforts before September 30th."

It might be a little too early for Jared Bernstein, but I think the readers on this site can figure out a proper conclusion. The grand sum of $16 billion for 54 jobs? What a standout record that is!

The next article concerned Jon Corzine, the Top Con Man of New Jersey. In a tight election, he has urged department heads to use their creative genius to come up with some jobs which have been created under his governorship.

After great massaging and creative genius, David Socolow came out with a report stating that "New Jersey's private sector employment is trending in the right direction." His good news was that the state had gained 5,900 jobs in July with layoffs in the puglic sector more than offfset by the addition of 13,000 new jobs in the private sector.

Alas, in the next month's data, the numbers for July were REVISED DOWNWARD considerably. In fact, 7,400 of those new jobs were illusory, with the net result that instead of gaining jobs the state had lost 500 jobs.

Corzine, true to Jersey politics, kept on touting that he, Jon Corzine, through his policies, had created all these new jobs...and the real figures be damned. Who would know? What could the public possibly figure out on their own?

Once again, at the state level and the national level, the people are to be kept in the dark...but there is a lit from a flashlight seen, and, like good forensic detectives whom we see on television almost every night, the light is shining on these corrupt people and their lies. How is it that they're not embarrassed when caught? Where are the reporters asking the tough questions?

As the economy continues on its sluggish path, as new jobs are being lost monthly, as the dollar continues to fall in value (it's now almost on a par with the Australian dollar), I was amazed to see an advertisement which the current occupant of the White House managed to take time off to make:

He was doing a COMMERCIAL for George Lopez and his new show which is coming up (and touted, by the way, as being "very funny"). Very funny means poking fun at Hispanics and calling white folks racist. I suppose to some that would be "very funny" but it seems to me that this show, as with so many, will be doomed to the dustbin of television history in a relative nanosecond.

How nice it was, however, for "The One" to take time out of his busy schedule, wrestling with what to do with the economy, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, et al., along with the various bills making their way through Congress to help out this race-baiter. One show which headlined George Lopez as the "star" which was on Channel 7 (ABC) was cancelled. His reaction: RACISM! LOL
