In response to President Barack Obama‘s reaction to a black man sympathetic to the Black Lives Matter movement killing five cops in Dallas, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino said law enforcement is “done” with the president.

Bongino, a former NYPD officer, appeared on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning and ripped into Obama for pushing gun control. The president said “when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes it more deadly and more tragic, and in the days ahead we are going to have to consider those realities as well.”

“I’m done with President Obama, and frankly, so are my law enforcement friends,” he said. “I literally don’t have one law enforcement friend on the federal, state or local level who has anything nice to say [about the president].”

Bongino noted that Obama contradicts himself.

“It is interesting when he gives these speeches, he opens them up saying the facts matter, let’s wait for the facts,” he said. “He has no facts on this yet, and he goes right to gun control… It’s just incredible. And he goes on to say ‘This is an American problem.’ What is an American problem? We do not even know what happened.”

He also condemned Obama’s stance against police officers in cases involving alleged racism.

“Are we not even willing to give police officers the benefit of the doubt?” Bongino asked. “We’re willing to paint with a broad brush. He doesn’t even have the facts. It is incredible.”

The shooting

Thornton, aged 34, was called into his place of employment for disciplinary purposes. Thornton had been recorded on surveillance video in the Hartford Distributors warehouse stealing beer on a previous occasion. He was also implicated in the theft of empty beer kegs.^[10] Hartford Distributors is a wholesale distributor of Budweiser beer products and wine. Given the options of being fired or resigning, Thornton signed the resignation papers and was being escorted out of the building. Instead of leaving, he took two Ruger SR9 semiautomatic pistols from his lunchbox and opened fire.

At the time Thornton started shooting, there were around 40 employees in the building. In just a few minutes, Thornton murdered eight coworkers and seriously injured two others. Many employees made calls to 911, with some callers identifying Thornton.^[11] Police arrived on the scene just three minutes after the first 911 call.^[12] Police entered the building ten minutes after the first 911 call. Thornton promptly hid in a locked office. As more police entered the building, Thornton called his mother and explained to her what he had done. He told her he planned on turning the gun on himself. As police closed in, Thornton called 911, saying his motive for the massacre was racism he had experienced in the workplace. He told the 911 operator that he wished he had killed more people.^[13][14] Soon after hanging up, he killed himself with a shot to the head.
