We got along fine without tax on INCOME until 1913....Its none of the government's business how much you earn by your hard work, or wise investments, or inheritance, or winnings in the game of life...remember? LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS?    A flat tax is still a tax on INCOME.

 

Sales tax enables Citizens to BOYCOT the government...would keep them responsive to the will of the people, with no need to rally in the streets in protest...in other words, they would no longer be the masters, but only SERVANTS of We, the People. The current arrangement is ass-backwards. Ever been audited?

 

Upper limit of a SALES tax, by law, would be 10%....no more, and must be ennumerated every 2 years by the peoples' representatives...in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES....the Founders never intended that the Federal Government have sush a deep reach into the pockets of the citizenry, or their private affairs. How hard is it to charge 1 to 10 percent (depending on what congress authorizes every two years) as a busiiness owner, escrowing those sums, and remitting to the government?

 

Are you saying there is no fraud under the current system? A "simple flat tax" is still an INCOME tax. Too invasive.

i see too much government and too much fraud with a sales tax system.  a simple flat tax works best... how much did you earn, this is how much you pay... no cpa, no forms, no bs.  From a businessman point of view, i dont need to do the accounting for sales tax... i do it now for free to the state, cannot imagine how difficult it will be doing the bookkeeping for the feds.

• as the first order of business at commencement of each two year session of congress,

By the way, where are John Boehner and Mitch McConnell? Have they been kidnapped by the liberal progressive democrat machine? Shouldn't they too be out on the campaign trail? If they aren't interested in being a part of this huge conservative movement then their time in office should end as soon as possible. The least that should happen is they loose their leader positions in the house and the senate.
