Marco Rubio: a Constitutional Dilemma

My beef with a Rubio VP candidacy is that it creates a painful moral dilemma for those of us who respect the Constitution and who are determined to uphold its inviolability.

Like millions of other anti-Progressive, anti-Marxist, anti-"living constitution" voters, I am Conservative and, most importantly, an originalist.

That said, though the prospect of four more years of subversive Progressive dominion in DC is fearsome indeed, I may be compelled to stay home in November. Why? After years of carefully researching the meaning of “natural born citizen”, it is painfully clear to me that, like our putative President,  Sen. Rubio is, per the Presidential Clause, constitutionally ineligible for that office. I have seen absoutely NO persuasive constitutional evidence to the contrary and I am, therefore, acutely disinclined to violating my oath merely to placate the political party with which I am currently registered.

If, like the Progressives, the GOP also perversely ignores the Constitution's Presidential Clause, in good conscience I cannot–I should not–violate my oath to uphold the Constitution. As it should be for every patriot, the Constitution should ALWAYS  trump blind, self-serving parochial party loyalty.  That is the way our Founders would see it.

I can only hope and pray that the Romney campaign seeks an affirming SCOTUS advisory opinion on Rubio’s eligibility before tapping him for the VP slot. While Mr. Rubio is stellar in so many ways, we should vote with our heads and not with our hearts.

The widespread willful ignorance on this issue which has contaminated nearly every part of our society, has been nothing short of shameful and alarming.

And if Obama is re-elected, he should be promptly impeached, convicted and removed from office for myriad  constitutional violations, not the least of which is his ineligibility. For this reason alone, we must redouble our efforts to take back the Senate where a 2/3 majority to convict and remove a president is required. We should then go after those co-conspirators, in whatever dark corner we may find them hiding, who had a hand in perpetrating this insidious fraud on the American people.

according to the heritage foundation rubio votes 98% conservative, which doesn't necessarily mean he supports the constitution but i hope he does, i just would like to hear him say that he won't accept the vp slot because of his ineligibility otherwise i'm not sure i believe his denials. allen west or herman cain for vp just might offset conservative/constitutionalist opposition to obamney.

My sense is that the Progressives won't touch a hair on Rubio's hair if he's tapped as VP. Why? In doing so, they'd expose their messiah to the same constitutional test. Won't happen.

The Constitution of our Christian Constitutional Republic applies to everyone, without exception.  I Like Rubio and his patriot stand.

no dilemma, rubio is not constitutionally eligible to be president. the constitution either applies to everyone or no one. i did not vote for the fraud and one reason was he was not an nbc. rubio isn't one either so i will not vote republiucan if he is on the ticket. neither will others i know. and if he is chosen i just might leave the republican party because it means they reject the constitution like the communists do. i may register iap and vote for laurie roth.

Don't pronounce yet that you're going to stay home in November because Rubio may be chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate. The democrat machine would like nothing more than to shoot down the chosen Republican VP candidate. In other words the democrat machine will do the dirty work for you. If Rubio is not qualified to be VP the democrat machine will stop him. But maybe Rubio himself knows better than to allow himself to be the candidate . . . . he has already said he WON"T be the VP candidate.

 I agree with you on impeachment of Obama but it should have begun the day he took office. Unfortunately, our fearsome leaders in the Republican party, Boehner and McConnell took no action then and still nothing today.

If Nixon was forced out of office for taping white house conversations and Clinton was threatened with impeachment, surely Obama and certain members of his administration should have been impeached. But again we have nothing.

 I remember well how powerfully the democrat machine in congress went after Nixon. They left no stone unturned. They left no Nixon administration member without days of torturous examination and questioning before We the People. Like all things democrat, they got what they wanted.

 I demand the same from our Republican leaders but am afraid my demands fall to earth with no action and I find no Republican with enough brain and gut to begin a successful impeachment process.
