Will you come and meet me

   on the playground where we played?

or will you smile and call out sweetly

   "Daddy, daddy" from the hill where I'll be laid?

In sunny haze of summer days

   (you don't remember like I do...

When I was young...and you were new)

Like those times we'd swing for hours

  in the park of tall trees and sand?

...or on the bright blue ocean's beach,

so far away and out of reach,

that rolled on to the land?

...when I had time to read you rhymes?

   so many golden days, so too, the magic times?

.

The sun arises, then sinks down

   relentlessly, so many times, too many times

and still there's much I need to say...

   I just can't make you hear the rhymes

.

Seems that all was just a dream, being "DADDY"

   but a dream I alone remember...here, in my December

across the miles

   across the sunsets, I see your smiles

across the ripples on the beaches

   no more footprints on the sands,

or sleepy time stories,

   or marching bands...

.

A dream only I recall, a story we lived in, you and I...

   so, will you come meet me , by and by?

Philip................I too, have a daughter......she is bright, beautiful and someone I cherish as a friend.

When we talk, there are times I have expressed my frustration with the world we live in and my beautiful girl reassures me with the message that God is working with all of us....he is waking us up and calling us to Himself...................

Years ago, I listened to a Homily at my Mother's funeral.....Fr Murphy said that there is an old saying that "God writes straight with crooked lines"......over the years I have come to believe that statement......as humans, we want what we want WHEN WE WANT IT.....................our
Father knows better what will be best for us................it is just so HARD to be patient...............

The MOST difficult thing to say [and MEAN] when we pray is "Thy Will Be Done....." because we hand EVERYTHING back to God and trust that He will provide......we let everything go and simply TRUST....

A tough position to take and remain with but it is the RIGHT thing to do.

You have given your daughter a 'better world' because you love her....because you have taught her right from wrong........you have taught her morality and ethics....................it will be up to her, as an adult, to carry those lessons forward to her children...................

I have a daughter . . . . I hoped to leave this world to her.

I arrived as a baby after a war. I hoped there'd never be another but I was wrong very wrong.

Throughout my lifetime I hoped there would be peace.

Instead the profits of war kept rearing their ugly heads.

I hate to leave the future so unsettled without a leader.

This world is so divided, there's no way to stem the bleeders.

I'm afraid she's gone, this world of ours. I see no guiding light.

When morals are gone there are only mortals left.

That won't be enough to sustain those of us who are left.
