"Note: Stacked here are every page of Obamacare regulations published through last week. The newest ones are the stack at the bottom. On the chair, next to the stack is the original 2,700 page Obamacare legislation. This stack is 7 feet 3 inches high."

++ObamaCare’s deception.

The original Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act railroaded into law by Congress was 2,700 pages long.  As of today, it’s reported that 20,000 pages of additional regulations have been added!

One look at this photo and it’s easy to understand why ObamaCare is truly a ticking time bomb – and when it explodes into full maturity, our nation’s health care system will be all but demolished by government regulation.

++Overregulation is detrimental to our health!

In one of our nation’s most comprehensive surveys of physicians, the Physicians Foundation recently reported…

“American patients are likely to experience significant and increasing challenges in accessing care if current physician practice patterns trends continue…

Physicians are working fewer hours, seeing fewer patients and limiting access to their practices in light of significant changes to the medical practice environment… The research estimates that if these patterns continue, 44,250 full-time-equivalent (FTE) physicians will be lost from the workforce in the next four years.

The survey also found that over the next one to three years, more than 50 percent of physicians will cut back on patients seen, work part-time, switch to concierge medicine, retire, or take other steps likely to reduce patient access.

In addition, should 100,000 physicians transition from practice-owner to employed status over the next four years (such as working in a hospital setting), the survey indicates that this will lead to 91 million fewer patient encounters.”

++ObamaCare is a hazard to seniors – and a growing plague to most Americans.
In another report, the Doctor Patient Medical Association reported that since the passage of ObamaCare….

  • Forty-nine percent say they'll stop accepting Medicaid patients.
  • Seventy-four percent warn they will stop taking Medicare patients or leave Medicare completely.
  • Eighty-three percent of America’s physicians have considered leaving their practices.
  • Sixty-five percent say government regulations are most to blame for rising healthcare costs.
  • Seventy-two percent say ObamaCare won't result in improved access to care.

An expected shortage of 160,000 doctors is predicted by 2025, which will potentially open the door for foreign-trained, less skilled physicians to be enticed to practice here.

Remember this promise by President Obama in 2009?

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period.”

Mr. President, you dramatically deceived the nation.

++ObamaCare can still be stopped – Liberty Counsel’s lawsuit against ObamaCare is alive and well!

Applying for benefits under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul could be as daunting as doing your taxes.

The government’s draft application is now on the Internet.

SPECIAL: ObamaCare Must Be Destroyed With A Vote Of Congress!

It runs 15 pages for a three-person family. The online version has 21 steps, some with added questions.

At least three major federal agencies, including the IRS, will scrutinize your application.

That’s just the first part of the process, which lets you know if you qualify for financial help.

You’d still have to pick a health plan.

Some fear that consumers will be overwhelmed and give up. Administration officials say the application form is being refined.

Still, the idea that picking a health insurance plan could be as simple as shopping on the Internet is starting to look like wishful thinking.

Senate Dems Vote to Provide Obamacare to Illegals

The Senate’s bipartisan immigration working group split along party lines during a contentious budget vote to prevent illegal immigrants who receive legal status from receiving federal health benefits.

The Senate early Saturday morning defeated the amendment to the budget resolution which would have put the Senate on record as opposing access to health care under Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act for undocumented immigrants who get a green card.

The amendment, which failed 43 to 56, was offered by Senate Budget ranking member Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.

All Democrats — including gang members Dick Durbin of Illinois, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Charles E. Schumer of New York and Michael Bennetof Colorado — opposed the amendment. They were joined by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. All other Republicans — including immigration negotiators Marco Rubio of Florida, John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona — supported the amendment.

You're right Gordon . . . . . what an exasperating time in our nation's history . . . . . and YOU were there!

Me too, but we have a good excuse - - Our own elected conservative(so-called) officials, are voting against us, Phil!

Last night, having noted the list of Republicans in the Senate who voted to fund Obamacare in yesterday’s Morning Briefing, I went through a series of emails from readers.

Readers from Texas, Kentucky, Utah, South Dakota, and Georgia all had the same story. They’d called the offices of Senators Chambliss, Cornyn, Hatch, Thune, McConnell, and Isakson to object to those senators funding Obamacare. They were all told by these Senate offices that these Senators had voted to defund Obamacare or, in the case of Senator Cornyn’s office, that there had been no vote on defunding Obamacare.

These Senators and their staffs are lying. They voted to fund Obamacare. More troubling, they know they did it.

Yesterday, on the floor of the Senate, Mitch McConnell again said, “Obamacare is a colossal mistake for our country. . . . We need to start all over. This bill needs to be repealed and it needs to be replaced. . . . And anyone who thinks we’ve given up this fight is dead wrong.”

The promise: “ObamaCare does not include any new taxes.”
The reality: That’s a whopper of a lie!  Of course, ObamaCare itself was ruled a “tax” by the Supreme Court. But that ruling doesn’t begin to expose the 20 new taxes coming under ObamaCare…and that’s just so far!
This is another of many reasons why defeating ObamaCare in court is of paramount importance to our nation and to our world-class healthcare system. Please see my very important update below – Mat.

President Obama had a difficult task in his first term: Sell ObamaCare to Congress and the American people at a price the legislators could embrace for passage – and that Americans could accept as a feasible amount to pay for what they would be getting.

The problem, as we continually warned during the “sales pitch” period, was that ObamaCare’s costs were all manipulated by budgetary smoke and mirrors!

ObamaCare is filled to the brim with new taxes, at least 20 by some estimates, and more are emerging during the “implementation” period.  Here are just a few:

• A 3.8 percent surtax on investment income and a 0.9 percent surtax on Medicare taxes for individuals making more than $200,000 and families making more than $250,000.
• A 2.3 percent excise tax on medical equipment.
• A 40 percent tax on comprehensive health coverage that costs more than the designated cap.
• New taxes that apply to Flexible Savings Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.
• A penalty tax for companies that do not offer health care to employees, and a penalty tax on individuals who do not carry insurance.
• A dramatic expansion of middle-class citizens who are taking government money from Medicare, Social Security, and unemployment.  Medicaid coverage will go to an estimated 16 million more Americans under ObamaCare. This stems from health insurance subsidies for those in the exchanges with incomes up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level ($92,000 for a family of four), which is about 75 percent of all U.S. households. All these new people on the federal dole will mean the rest of have to pay higher taxes to support the program.

++The healthcare “death spiral” has begun!

Of course, ObamaCare includes a maze of cross-subsidies as a means of transferring wealth without even using the tax code. laid out this example: Health insurers must accept people with a pre-existing condition, which mostly affects individuals buying their own coverage, and puts a cap on how much insurers can charge.

For people with pre-existing conditions to get coverage at less than their actuarial risk, young and healthy people must pay more than their fair share. Thus, many of them will want to drop coverage because it will be so expensive.

But ObamaCare will force them to stay in. The young and healthy will spend billions of dollars paying higher-than-necessary premiums to cross-subsidize others.

But this astonishing quote from the pages of ObamaCare passed into law by our elected legislators may be the biggest conundrum on taxes of all…

Section 441, page 203 of the ObamaCare bill actually states: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.”

Now that’s a unique way to claim there are no new taxes associated with ObamaCare – simply redefine the word “tax”!

++American healthcare may never be the same.

Unless ObamaCare is stopped in court, on January 1, 2014, this nightmarish law will be in full force – ushering in the totality of a new era of healthcare in America that is the most invasive intrusion upon American liberty in our nation’s history, implemented by our own government.

Gordon, as one of the signers of the all-new Amici Book, I know that you prayerfully and morally stand behind Liberty Counsel’s efforts to rid our nation of ObamaCare once and for all.

You’ve told us that you will pray and for that I will be ever grateful. Will you also consider a special gift today to financially support this major litigation effort – even if you have done so before – as well as the other important court cases that we have pending?

I believe Liberty Counsel’s lawsuit against ObamaCare is America’s best hope to end the federal takeover of our healthcare system and its deadly impact on our culture!

Further, I feel certain that our favorable positioning in the legal system is the result of God honoring the prayers of tens of thousands of friends like you!

Gordon, right now my team is in full preparation mode for our pending court date.

Our battle against ObamaCare is among the most historic pieces of litigation ever fought in the United States federal courts.  And Liberty Counsel’s lawsuit is now at the forefront of all judicial efforts to have the law overturned!

Please, even if you have supported this case before, stand with my team and me once again in this special way by giving a special gift.

THANK YOU for all you do, and have done, as a key member of the Liberty Counsel team!

I hope you’ll consider a special gift to help undergird Liberty Counsel’s extremely important litigation efforts. Again, thank you and God bless you!

Obamacare is costing us jobs and many companies will have to shut their doors.

Friends of the U.S. Chamber

Dear Friend,

support real reform. add your name to our petitionThree years ago, President Obama signed a bill into law that fundamentally changed our nation's health care system.

As the President and Democrat supporters celebrate, we’re left wondering, what successes are you pointing to?

Three years later, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) has failed to live up to its name, leaving a trail of broken promises in its wake.

Instead of lowering costs as promised and making the system simpler for patients, the law has added a litany of new rules, regulations and fines.

Remember the pledge that, “if you like your current health care plan, you’ll be able to keep it”? In fact, the CBO estimated that some 7 million people will lose their coverage, no matter how much they like it.

Then there was the promise that families could save $2,500 in heath care premiums.  The average family premium has, in fact, grown by more than $3,000 since 2008.

The House Ways and Means Committee recently debunked the myth that the law wouldn’t raise taxes on families making less than $250,000 a year when they reported that the law includes about $1.1 trillion in new taxes that will hit Americans of all income levels.

And let’s not forget about the promise that the law won’t add to the deficit.  A recent Government Accountability Office report shows the law will add $6.2 trillion to the primary deficit.

The unfortunate reality is that the health care law is here to stay. But that doesn’t mean we should give up fighting the most harmful provisions, including the health insurance tax and employer mandate, while working to navigate the myriad of new burdensome regulations for employers.

As the U.S. Chamber’s Bruce Josten, alongside Matt Shay and Dan Danner, said in an op-ed yesterday:

“Anniversaries are generally good things… A retrospective in the three years since the passage of the (PP)ACA falls sadly short. In spite of a highly partisan political environment in Washington, the voice of reason has reached members of both parties and in both houses of Congress, several of whom have proposed legislation that targets the (PP)ACA's worst offenders that would make future Obamacare anniversaries a little less painful.”

There have been enough broken promises. We need real solutions and are working to fight for reforms outside of Obamacare that will harness free enterprise to lower costs, improve quality, expand access to health care, and protect American jobs and the employers who create them.

We will never stop fighting the health care reforms that America deserves. That’s one promise that you can count on.

Will you make that pledge with us? Sign our petition today.

Report: More Doctors Plan to Retire Early

Saturday, 23 Mar 2013 11:23 AM

By Matthew Auerbach

A majority of physicians see a somewhat bleak future for medicine, pointing to eroding independence and shrinking income, reports

According to a survey from the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions of more than 600 doctors, six in 10 physicians said they expect many of their colleagues to retire earlier than planned in the next 1 to 3 years.

That perception cuts across age, gender and specialty.

Another 55 percent of doctors surveyed believe many of their colleagues will cut back on their hours because of the way medicine is changing, although the survey didn't delineate on how it was changing.

Seventy-five percent believe the best and brightest may not consider a career in medicine, an increase from the 2011 survey result of 69 percent.

“Physicians recognize ‘the new normal’ will necessitate major changes in the profession that require them to practice in different settings as part of a larger organization that uses technologies and team-based models for consumer (patient) care,” the survey's findings stated.

Approximately two-thirds of those surveyed said they believe physicians and hospitals will work together more closely in coming years.

Results found that in the last 2 years, 31 percent moved into a larger practice.

Nearly eight in 10 believe midlevel providers will play a larger role in directing primary care.

Four in 10 doctors reported their take-home pay decreased from 2011 to 2012, with more than half said their pay cut was 10 percent or less, according to the survey.

Among physicians reporting a pay cut, four in 10 blame Obamacare and 48 percent of all doctors believed their income would drop again in 2013 as a result of the health reform law.

It wasn’t all bad news, however.

Seventy percent of doctors said they were satisfied about practicing medicine, although that number was lower for primary care providers and higher for younger age groups.

Dissatisfaction was blamed on less one-on-one time with patients, longer hours, and dealing with Medicare, Medicaid, and government regulations.

Deloitte mailed the survey to more than 20,000 physicians selected from the American Medical Association's master file. Just 613 returned completed surveys, giving a margin of error of 3.9 percent at the 0.95 confidence level.
