14 States have now officially petitioned to secede

The last I read Oregon was also one of them, which makes 14! Now they need a qualifying number of signers to the petition. Let's get behind them - this is the start!

It really is terribly tragic when even patriots don't understand the constitution they SAY they love so. You have to wonder who the hell is guiding them. Democratic operatives to make patriots look dumber than they are? Looks like we need to educate our own as well as the liberal mob. So depressing. But, at least we now know just how very big our challenge going forward really is. God help us.

These are people who are acting on either misinformation on how to go about doing this, or they have not taken the time to find out the correct procedure to use to approach this subject. Any petition of this sort MUST begin at the State level. I have been on blogs a great portion of the day trying to tell people this is how it has to be. Not sure if it has done any good, but once again we are seeing a very dumbed-down people doing what they think is right without having all the facts first!

I know people in TX, OR, NY, and various of the other states and am messaging them as to what action they MUST take in order or this to have any teeth. Thanks for your additional input - maybe people will actually listen when they hear it from more than one source.

Someone's not reading their historical constitutional materials. As a matter of courtesy--and to intimidate perhaps--petitioners might want to informally advise the WH that they are pursuing secession. But, asking the WH for permission to proceed is grossly inept and totally unnecessary. A "convention of people" within a State representing the majority of State residents is ALL that is needed for a State to officially secede. Can someone please explain what I'm missing here?

Comment by Annette Akerman on November 11, 2012 at 11:31pm: As of 12:46 am, Sunday, signatures obtained by Louisiana, 7,358; Texas, 3,771; Florida, 636; Georgia, 475; Alabama, 834; North Carolina, 792; Kentucky, 467; Mississippi, 475; Indiana, 449; North Dakota, 162; Montana, 440; Colorado, 324; Oregon, 328; New Jersey, 301 and New York, 169. Many more States are expected to follow. Understand that these signatures MUST be turned over to the individual State in which they were written. 0bama has no jurisdiction to tell us anything concerning this petition. The Petition with the 25,000 signatures MUST originate from the respective State to the White House.

If the Republican-controlled States would get off their dead derrieres and INSIST upon constitutional order, Obama and his Statist allies are dead.

NULLIFICATION with teeth is THE surefire constitutional and peaceful remedy for tyranny, failing which patriots should get behind every serious secessionist movement out there!

I'm keeping my 10 acres in Texas.

Comment by Kathryn Ball on November 11, 2012 at 2:49pm: Shortly after the 2008 election & innauguration of BHO, there were stories all over the internet about states declaring sovereignty under the 10th Amedment.....nothing really came of it.

The only states I heard about were La and NC.....some of the states listed are highly suspect [at least in my opinion which could be 'all wet']...why would New York & New Jersey petition to secede after handing their many Electoral votes to BHO? Buyers remorse.......too little-too LATE!

I guess time will tell....in the event that any secede, the population in those states will EXPLODE!!!
