To The Clay Men of the NFL

An old Soldier stands and salutes Old Glory
as a lone trumpeter plays our national anthem.
Nearby a grieving Gold Star mother
lays a trembling hand across her heart.
Yet on the football field below is told another story-
clay fools who kneel in defiance of their country.
I say to them, “Be men and and ring sweet freedom’s bell!
Get off your knees or go to bloody hell!”

My family has long defended liberty
since the Great War to end all wars.
I myself was never quite a hero,
though I sounded Taps for hundreds at the grave.
But my five military children have routinely risked their lives for freedom.
What have these rich athletes risked blood and guts to save?
I say to them, “Be men and ring sweet freedom’s bell!
Get off your knees or go to bloody hell!”

America has given these rich men so much.
How dare they disrespect our flag!
Ten million ghosts of glory rise against them
and sing with all their might!
Ten million ghosts of glory
tell these men of clay to join the fight!
“Be men and ring sweet freedom’s bell!

Fellow Citizens

My friend, Dickie Allan, penned this powerful epic ballad which speaks to the "slow undoing" of our Nation by those who hate Liberty, and all the blessings that Individual Human Liberty has blessed us with.

The ballad derives its message from the real life story of this Patriot, and his loving family.

It is my solemn hope that all who read this, or listen to its words, will be strengthened in their patriotic fervor, and disparage those who would despise this Nation.
