Texas Official Invites NY Gun Owners to Lone Star State

(Breitbart) – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is rolling out the welcome mat for New Yorkers who would like to keep their guns—and their money.

Abbott used his campaign money to produce and place ads on media websites in New York City and Albany encouraging residents to move to Texas. Why? To avoid the severe gun restrictions put into place by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, as well as the high income taxes of the Empire State.

FAX BLAST SPECIAL: Don’t Let The Government Take Your Guns! Protect Your Second Amendment Rights!

One ad reads: “WANTED: Law abiding New York gun owners seeking lower taxes and greater opportunities.” If the viewer clicks on the ad, the link goes to a Facebook page extolling the advantages of moving to Texas, such as the lack of an income tax which would enable people to “keep more of what you earn and use that extra money to buy more ammo.”

Abbott minced no words courting New Yorkers, saying:

Texas is better than New York, and New York just gave us another excuse to say that… It is tongue in cheek, but there is a deeper message here. Texas really does stand as the last bastion of ultimate freedom in this country. Over the last decade, more than 4 million people moved to this state, and one reason is freedom and one reason is economic opportunity.

New Yorkers are now limited by Cuomo’s new restrictions, including an expansion of the assault weapon ban already in place and limits on ammunition capacity.

Texas is a different matter; Abbott has committed to sue to block any gun restrictions enacted by Congress.

Many New Yorkers are appalled by the progressive overreach of this Governor on the issue of gun rights, gun control and the 2nd Amendment.

I have been monitoring developments around the country with regard to sheriffs’ pushback against both federal and state authorities who would knowingly violate our clearly defined 2nd Amendment rights.

Two quick questions: will NYS sheriffs honor and act upon any law or executive order emanating from either Albany or DC which would in any way violate our 2nd Amendment rights? Or does your oath of office always take precedence over political expediency and self-service?

Specifically, what is the official position of the Sheriffs Association of NYS on the recent gun control measures enacted by our “representatives” in Albany?

I will share your response with my friends, neighbors and gun club members.

Thank you for your attention and timely reply.

Any policeman or peace officer in the United States, can, with an arrest warrant and the authority vested in him to carry out the law, can arrest 0bama. Furthermore, nothing was mentioned that I have found yet about 0bama having no rights to override the laws set forth in the Constitution as he is trying to do. He is the legislative branch of the govt. not the law making branch. His hot shot executive order is worthless because he has no authority to make such a usurpation of the law already standing on the books. An executive order telling citizens what they can and cannot do is prima facia null and void. He does NOT have that authority. Executive orders were never intended to become laws of the land. Sovereignty is vested in the People and their immediate fiduciary agents, those being their county and State representatives, who are duty-bound to protect the People from all enemies foreign and domestic.
