REAL CONSERVATIVES

The practical reality of Ning’s corporate decision is now upon us, and we now have a date certain, August 20, 2010.

There have been many expressions of your disagreement with Ning’s new policy. The reality is that they, as a private enterprise, have a perfect right to charge whatever price they feel a free market will bear. That's Capitalism. You, as REAL CONSERVATIVES, understand this, I am sure.

There have been many suggestions, predominately that I transfer all of the work-product of this site to another free site. This is simply not practical. It would require too many man-hours to accomplish that enormous feat. And, I do not have the resources to hire out the work. Besides, the pricing structures of the various other, limited, "free" sites are comparable to Ning’s, when properly evaluated.

The "free" sites are "free", yes, but are very limited in their basic "free" capabilities. By the time the "premium" services are added to the so-called "free" site, the cost for all the necessary services they offer as "options" would be fairly close to the cost of simply continuing this current site, without entailing the labor-intensive, time consuming task of transferring the data from this site to the new "free" site.

Therefore, I must make some hard decisions regarding the ongoing fate of REAL CONSERVATIVES, going forward.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, I need to know exactly how many of you are actually still out there. This is the reason I need to hear from ALL of you, personally, this time. This is the reason for doing this current MEMBER CENSUS. The member count on this site is currently at 348 Members. But it’s vitally important that I am sure that you are all still actively "on board" as Members.

Responding to this Member Census is quick, and simple: Just check in with me in the comment section below. Comment by answering this question:

" Do you feel that REAL CONSERVATIVES is an effective

vehicle in the accomplishment of it’s stated mission, to encourage

Conservative Voters to VOTE on Election day and to provide a

repository of Conservative thought for the benefit of our youth?

Do you feel that this site should remain intact, at least

through November 2, 2010-Election Day?"

At the very least, answer with a "yes" or a "no" but DO answer in the comments section below, so I can get an accurate count of the actual, ACTIVE Membership, going forward.

I need to hear from EACH of you by July 20, 2010.

In the interest of strict transparency, it must be done this way...so that ALL members can see the results of this Member Census, as the comments section is visible for ALL members to see.

Your co-operation is of the essence,....so too is the time in which it is framed.

I remember feeling a sense of relief finding this site because it was free and I know the liberals have many such sites that pursue their agenda much more aggressively.

I do not understand all of the Ning stuff and have no idea what the dialogue is about. I have never had a problem signing on although I do not sign on often, rather I just read.

I am active and read many/most of the posts. I don't know how much this site does in terms of encouraging people to vote. Personally I am VERY motivated to vote with or without this site. It is, however, a good repository of conservative thought for sure. I would like the site to remain in tact at least through the elections. How much would is cost to do that?

As I have previously stated, this site offers the comfort zone of 'home'. Having said that, I do understand that you have put a tremendous ammount of time and effort into 'Real Conservatives' with little compensation. Your dedication is much appreciated.

Imagine how difficult the lives of the Founders must have been with none of the conveniences that their sacrifices provided the liberty for people with vision and dreams to create, one of the greatest being this communication venue.

At this time in our nation's life, there are evil forces trying to enslave all of us, to control the information we recieve and what our kids are taught in government controlled schools. You, Uncle Sam, have assembled so much information here which we never would have had access to without doing the researching job you have done. You have also inspired others among us to seek the truth and to share it with our families and friends. [you even taught me how to "copy & paste"!].

One of the goals of the people in power now is to censor the internet and therefore control ALL of the information available.

Our Founders pledged their "LIVES, FORTUNES and SACRED HONOR" to birth the greatest nation ever to stand on this planet. Most of those men lost their fortunes, their families and their fortunes but their HONOR survived and is evident in people such as you, Uncle Sam.

Although losing this site would sadden me I will remain greatful to you for your dedication to this and all of us.

I do wish you could continue at least through the election in Nov. and then until the 'new' congress is seated in Jan. 2011. I think the country will be in the most danger from these people in those few short months as they will pass anything they can, regardless of how contemptable. I think to stop now gives the left a victory it does not deserve but you must do what is best for yourself and your family.
