I know most of you won't do it, but I'm begging you to please read pages 70-74 in my book, "A Patriot's Call to Action". Read it three times. Only 5 pages. Carefully researched, it succinctly and clearly explains the founders' understanding of the "welfare clause" WHICH DOESN'T INCLUDE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S PROVIDING HEALTHCARE!!!!! AGAIN this authority, per the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution, rests with the individual States, NOT with the federal government, aka Leviathan. For this reason and without reservation, I support repeal of Obamacare because it is grossly unconstitutional. But, I also advocate the feds' returning healthcare to the States where it constitutionally belongs.

Let's be clear, folks: Ryancare/Trumpcare/Obamacare/whatever federal care, is but another lame-brained, misguided federal entitlement which needlessly adds to our national debt and further erodes both State sovereignty and individual freedom. Is that really what we want?

If we want a suffocating unitary welfare state vs a constitutional republic, then we should support Ryancare or Obamacare. Fine. But, don't then pretend to be advocates for a return to constitutional order. Such a pretense falls flat.

Trump is a good man and is well-intentioned, but he, like so many other patriots today, is caught up in this self-destructive welfare state mentality which has been plaguing our country and our failing brains for over 150 years!

States are MUCH better equipped to experiment with and to provide healthcare models for its own citizens. A one-size-fits-all federal entitlement program is sinister, unmanageable, lawless, uninspired and short-sighted. Here's our chance to get it right, but you know what? We won't--again! And so goes the republic...

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; Market Stabilization”

https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=HHS_FRDOC_0001-0665

This is Ryan and Price's hidden mandate that forces everyone into the exchanges by REDUCING the sign up period in the exchange and by not allowing people to buy into the insurance exchange the rest of the year. It was put in place Feb 17th by Secretary Price and NO ONE has been told about it and the comment period is closed!!! Regulations don’t require a vote by congress per Obamacare law so it’s a done deal yet Ryan and republican leadership keep telling people they don’t need to buy insurance. This is on top of the 30% penalty for not taking insurance. They are denying people insurance outside the enrollment period each year which could kill or bankrupt someone because they have NOT been told they can't buy insurance if they drop it for the 2 month period! Why hasn’t Ryan or Price explained this regulation in full?  People NEED to know about this regulation before they cancel their policies! DID the CBO have this regulation when they scored Ryan’s bill? Read the section where Price is going to store MORE of people’s private information on this unsecure exchange server!!! Price asked for comments but didn’t tell people this regulation exists!!!!  What other regulations are Price and Ryan going to put in place behind our backs? We WOULD have definitely commented BUT no one knew the regulation existed! Ryan is already implementing his bill secretly through regulations where no one can vote to stop it! Everyone knows the vulnerability and back door problems of the server - everyone is going to be really upset when they find out their personal information will be on the exchange server for anyone to hack and they were not told this was happening! And this regulation doesn't get us to repeal and replace as promised, it keeps the exchange and mandated obamacare in place.

gmiller,

It's not my logic, it's the logic of the founding fathers. If the citizens of a State opt to adopt a "socialist" policy/program, then citizens, the ultimate arbiters of what is and what is not constitutional, and, by extension, their State may do so. Don't shoot the messenger. I would also ask that you kindly read my book, "A Patriot's Call to Action" if for no other reason than to understand that I am in no way a socialist. Interestingly, I've never before been accused of harboring socialist predilections. This is the first.

Now HERE's a worthy Obamacare repeal/Replacement. It's only 4 pages,. not a thousand.

U.S. Senator and physician Rand Paul introduced S. 222, the Obamacare Replacement Act, to provide Congress with a health care plan grounded in broadly…

Using your logic, Jim, any Socialist policy would be within the purview of the state. That's how Romney justified Romneycare for MA.

Gmiller,

Like the 10th Amendment clearly provides, those powers not specifically delegated to the federal government or specifically denied to the States in the Constitution rest soley with the States or THE PEOPLE. So, yes, the provision of healthcare (or, if you prefer, health care) falls within the purview of the individual States OR its individual citizens.

and here I always thought that providing healthcare (when did it become only one word?) was an individual/family responsibility, not a government "entitlement.". When did "Real Conservatives" become a Liberal web site?
