NEVER TOLERATE TYRANNY!....Conservative voices from the GRASSROOTS.

You Got It, Newt! Burn Obama’s Butt- Not Each Other!

Great debate last night. And though I’m not a big fan of Wolf Blitzer, I thought the venerable CNN anchor performed a valuable service for America by adding to the tremendous energy present on stage and in the audience. If I didn’t know better, I might have mistook Blitzer for one of us. Maybe Wolf has finally had enough of Barry Obama…

Who won? Well, I think the American people won. Generally speaking, the Republican lineup looked good, and the Kenyan imposter looked bad. While the proceedings did resemble a typical political food fight at times, all the candidates (with one exception) improved their public image. Romney and Bachmann did especially well- even Gingrich and Huntsman.

Most notably, moderate Mitt Romney was unruffled by open Taxed-Enough-Already hostility. He pretty much walked through the barnyard and came out smelling like a rose…

Who was that exception? That would be Governor Rick Perry. Yes, Perry received a favorable reception from the TEA audience, but he was thoroughly hammered- once again. Moreover, his plastic grin made him look like the cat who just swallowed the canary. He looked stiff and uncomfortable- like his suit was too tight. Public perception of his stance on Social Security did not significantly improve. Also, his infamous executive order regarding the immunization of Texas schoolgirls hung like a millstone around his neck. And providing illegal immigrants with higher education at taxpayer expense? It was like telling your best joke in church- and nobody laughs…

Who was my personal favorite? Why, Congressman Ron Paul, of course! His fiery comments about the Federal Reserve were timely and accurate. I also applauded his distinction between military spending and defense spending- basically saying that we must stop squandering our national resources on militaristic endeavors.

The most precious moment of the night? Well, I thought that was provided by Jon Huntsman when the Afghan lady stood up and asked what the candidates would do to promote civil rights for women in Afghanistan. The former governor of Utah courageously stood his ground and declared that the American people have given their all in that war-ravaged country- and that it was time for our troops to come home. Moreover, the Afghans must ultimately take responsibility for their own national security- and US assistance to Afghan women would best be achieved by non-military means.

So these are my thoughts on this lovely September morning following the latest debate. I haven’t yet read any pundit opinions, because I didn’t want to be influenced by their individual agendas.

The GOP ticket for 2012? Romney-Bachmann wouldn’t surprise me one bit- which would pragmatically satisfy both the moderates and the Taxed-enough-Already, even if the latter can‘t stomach Romney.

My personal preference for the GOP nod? That would be Ron Paul, Ron Paul or Ron Paul. And though I consider the Texas Congressman’s nomination unlikely, I am proud of him for boldly and unequivocally stating his Constitutionally conservative message.

I’m beginning to feel a little optimism about the 2012 Presidential race. I’m beginning to agree with Dick Morris that “Obama is toast.” Dick feels that Barry’s support from voters 30 and under (and also Latino support) has dwindled sufficiently to ensure Obama‘s defeat. Only Barry’s substantial black support remains, but the high voter turnout among black voters in 2008 will not likely be repeated.

In closing, I thought the electric atmosphere in Tampa (as well as in Cincinnati and in Phoenix) was good for America. And again, I was pleasantly surprised by Wolf Blitzer helping things along. Public opinion is turning against the Kenyan usurper- even if Congress doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to impeach this common criminal. It is time for us to turn up the heat. Yes, turn up the heat until Barry is BURNED toast!

I for one am content to leave the GOP Presidential nomination up to the American people- but Obama’s gotta go! So please, my conservative friends! Turn up that heat! Follow Newt’s example! Use our collective Constitutional magnifying glass to focus the sun’s scorching rays on Obama- not each other.

Ron Paul Wins GOP Calif. Straw Poll; Perry Second

Sunday, 18 Sep 2011 08:19 AM

By Newsmax Wires

  • Rep. Ron Paul easily won what might be called the Texas shootout in the California Republican Straw Poll Saturday, with the Lone Star state congressman finishing first among GOP presidential contenders with 44.9 percent of the vote and Texas Gov. Rick Perry coming in second at 29.3 percent.

Ron Paul, Rick PerryPaul’s victory wasn’t particularly surprising, as overwhelming numbers of his fans turned out for the fall Republican convention in the Golden State, the Los Angeles Times reported

“Raucous cheers and whistles and whoops and screams — one could be forgiven for wondering if they were for an elderly 11-term House politician or Justin Bieber — announced Paul's presence outside the doors. He then entered to another round of cheers and camera flashes,” the Times reported.

Conventioneers heard Rep. Michele Bachmann speak Friday night, and Paul and another GOP presidential candidate, Michigan Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, Saturday morning.

The Times chronicled the following quotes from Paul’s address as getting the most applause:
  • "We have endless wars overseas and endless welfare at home. We can't afford that anymore; we have to change those policies."
  • "We do need an absolutely thorough audit of the Federal Reserve.”
  • "What is the purpose of government and political action? I think the main purpose of our Constitution and political action should be the preservation of liberty."
  • "It would be nice if we had a lot more respect for the rule of law."
  • "You ought to have a right to work hard, and you ought to have a right to keep what you earn."
  • America's role is to have a strong national defense, "not to be the policeman of the world."
Enthusiasm Paul generated throughout the day extended to the straw poll tally Saturday night, in which Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney finished a distant third at 8.8 percent and Bachmann, fourth at 7.7 percent. Then came Jon Huntsman at 2 percent, Herman Cain at 1.8, and Newt Gingrich at 1.7. The other candidates failed to break 1 percent.

2012 Presidential Matchups
Obama 46%, Perry 39%
Before he entered his first debate as a presidential candidate, Texas Governor Rick Perry was the Republican frontrunner and held a modest lead in a hypothetical matchup against President Obama. Perry was the target for all the other candidates in the two most recent GOP debates, however, and he now trails the president by single digits.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Obama picking up 46% of the vote, while Perry earns support from 39%. Fifteen percent (15%) are either undecided or prefer another candidate. Two weeks ago, Perry was up by three. Three weeks ago,  the president held a three-point edge over the governor. (To see question wording, click here.)

Now, Perry’s chief rival for the nomination, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, holds a three-point lead on the president.  Another GOP hopeful, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, trails Obama by double digits.  The fluctuation in Perry's, Romney's and Bachmann’s numbers comes as a Generic Republican  maintains a steady lead over the president.

The president’s Job Approval ratings remain consistently in the low-to-mid 40s. As the election draws closer, Obama’s Job Approval will provide a good indication of his likely vote total. If his Job Approval rating is over 50% in November 2012, it will be difficult for any Republican to beat him. If his ratings move into the low 40s or below, it will be difficult for the president to win unless there is a major third-party candidate in the mix.

I watched that debate and look forward to the next on the 22nd on Fox. In my view  last place would go to Huntsman. And Ron Paul is too eager to blame America for my taste, although on other scores I do agree with him. Santorim did well as did most of them. I think Bachman's attacks on Perry were impressive but on some level over the top as Perry did at least did provide a "Opt Out" option for the shot. I am more bothered by the "in state" tuition for illegals. Boiled down I have to say Newt is my first choice at this point. This guy knows his stuff and he knows history, making him less apt to repeat the worse of it. I truly believe we need some SERIOUS brain power in that office.

What a great article Allan; Thank you... We do have to be very careful as you know.  There are socialist GOP too. They know how to sing the song most want to hear. This election is soooooooo important and we have to get it right! Although, at this point I would vote for a Pepsi can over zero! The union thugs will be up to many dirty tricks in the months to come, they too know what is at stake for there life... I really hope Romney isn't the one in the end! He worries me... Again, thanks for a good read as always!
