WOW -Florida really is ROMNEY COUNTRY!!!!

We were at the Florida rally in Apopka and there was NO emptiness around Mitt and Ann on Saturday night!!! Wow it was so awesome. The sign used as a backdrop said Florida is Romney country and it is!!! Right before 6pm, the sky became very dark and the wind started blowing so hard that they removed the plants from the stage. Someone looked up the radar and a violent storm was moving in. But it never rained and the skies cleared The people just kept coming and coming. The event started at 6:00pm and there was a constant line of people streaming in until he spoke after 7pm. They just kept coming and you could see cars in the background behind the trees that were still driving in. When we left, we saw cars parked in the grass on the side of the single lane road and we were 2 miles from the park where he spoke!! People walked 2 miles to see him. And someone told us that some of these people who walked so far were elderly and stopped to rest 2 or 3 times before they got to the amphitheater.

We were lucky enough to be sitting in the seats. The people were packed in standing as far back as we could see. There was only 1 small projection screen and I don't know if the people standing could even see the stage or the screen, but they stayed and cheered on Mitt to the end!!!! I didn't get a full view of the crowd, but there had to be at least 12,000 -15,000 people.

Mitt arrived in a line of vehicles with police lights flashing and black SUV's carrying the secret service. The crowd went crazy. They unloaded out of sight and then Artur Davis spoke. Then Connie Mack gave a speech and introduced Mitt. Ann walked out on stage with Mitt and the crowd went ballistic - we didn't know they were both going to be there together. They were up on the stage together and this event did not have people behind them. Ann looked so beautiful and elegant with her hair up and her red dress. They looked so humbled when they saw the crowd that had come to see them. Mitt's speech was great and after he spoke, Ann went down to one side and Mitt went down the other side of the stage to shake hands.

My husband had gone down to the front after his speech. He was standing behind the first row of chairs. As Mitt was coming, a woman with the secret service passed in front of him but luckily moved past. Mitt came to where he was standing and my husband yelled to him and reached out his arm to shake hands. Mitt reached out and started shaking my husband's hand. My husband grasped Mitt's hand with his other hand and thanked him for what he was doing for the country. My husband has been walking and calling to save this country for my son and I guess his passion came through as he spoke, Mitt grasped my husband's hands with his remaining hand and as my husband spoke Mitt was looking him directly in the eyes. Mitt did not speak but just nodded slightly and my husband felt like Mitt understood what he was trying to say. My husband said you are going to win this and Mitt moved on.

Then Ann came from the opposite direction and I was lucky enough to shake her hand. She looked at me as I spoke to her. She is so beautiful and just a class act. Both her and Mitt act like they truly care as they meet the crowd. It feels real and they look directly at the people they are talking to or shaking hands with. It's not an act being played out to just get votes.

And Romney has changed. We saw him speak in June and he was really good. Saturday night was different - he was much more passionate and he was great!!! You could tell that WE THE PEOPLE give him confidence and inspiration to do what he is doing. And unlike McCain and Palin, people were there to see Mitt and were excited about the top of the ticket!!!!!

As Mitt spoke, there was a beautiful pink in the sky instead of the storm clouds. Don't ever say that prayer isn't powerful.

Here's the amphitheater at the start - there was a metal gate put up around the perimeter and you can't see it in this picture. So when the area was full, it extended way past the sidewalk to the edges of the gate.

@ Patty - thanks again!  Had to also share that a thirty-something client came in the other day and proclaimed proudly, "This lifelong Democrat now has TWO Romney/Ryan signs in front of her house!"

We just put out 4 more signs as we walked tonight!!! We have over 60 signs in our Orlando neighborhood. A woman who was independent came up to us and she wasn't on our walk list but her whole house is voting Romney and voting republican!!! There's a sign in her yard as well.

I wear my Romney shirt everywhere we go. We have given 2 signs to a waiter at Olive Garden, 1 sign to a waitress at Waffle House and 1 sign to a waiter at Bob Evans!!!

And Karen, please don't get discouraged. The people from your state are the best callers in the country and have played a key role in elections across the country!!!

I can't tell you what a blessing this is today!  Thank you so much for sharing the good news!  Sometimes, the isolation of being one of those called to keep sharing information from one little corner of the nation and hoping that passing it on is having some impact in the greater scheme of things gets so discouraging and it's items like THIS that can make all the difference!
