What Those Town Hall Mobsters Mean to Me

Simply making a comment: To those American citizens who stand up at the town halls and voice their concerns, their opinions, their fears, their anger; whether respectfully, passionately, loudly, stumbling, pointedly, eloquently or in any other heartfelt manner that conveys their message; who exercise their right to free speech, to ask direct questions of their representatives and who are not appeased by the talking heads appointed to make their talking points at town hall meetings; who are persistent when not acknowledged by their elected leaders and insist their questions be answered; who have been labeled by “The Party” as thugs, members of an organized mob (oh by the way, I didn’t get the memo when the next meeting is so could someone let me know when, where, and which secret handshake we’re supposed to use!) and bused in by “well-funded Republican right-wing groups”; who had to weigh in their minds if it was a wise move to stand up in front of large crowds, to be singled out, to be made visible by means of YouTube, amateur video via cell phone, and perhaps any professional media outlet inclined to actually report the news; who ultimately decided their anger trumped their fears and justified their actions; I just want to say, YOU HAVE REPRESENTED ME MORE THAN ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS EVER HAS! You stand on behalf of not just yourself, but millions of others who are your brothers and sisters in distress, those who cannot attend town halls due to being turned away, or because the town hall in their districts will not take place because of cowardly representatives who have cancelled or will not schedule a town hall under the pretense of whatever excuse they give. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the many people who stand to be heard, because you are the people who represent millions of others just like you!
