Isn't it interesting that someone who has NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN this cross actually filed a suit stating that he "MIGHT drive through the desert and "MIGHT be offended" if he sees it.
Frankly, there is NOTHING in our Constitution which gaurentees freedom from being offended [a good thing as our federal prisons would really be overcrowded]. There also is not one single word which refers to 'separation of church and state'.

The First Amendment states "Congress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment of religion, or PROHIBITING the FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

The people who file these law suits are attempting to violate the First Amandment Rights of all who believe, as our founders did, that our rights are given to us by God....NOT the government.
Maybe it is time for US to start suing these individuals and groups who are using and abusing our courts to further their Godless agenda.

The rabid determination of the left to remove God from our consciousness has been permitted to go too far for too many years.

The California Ninth Circus [NOT a typo] Court of Appeals has long been a joke, it is a court which has had many of its controversial rulings overturned by higher courts.

The A.C.L.U. is a federally funded group which needs to have their funding pulled. They do not now nor have they EVER represented the best interests of the American people and need to go out in the real world and experience life off the government dole.

Is there anyone in California interesting in painting the ugly box placed over this memorial? How about a lovely white cross?

I'm going to make it my patriotic duty to personally VISIT that cross before I die.
It has become a national symbol for those soldiers that died for us in a war that took place almost a hundred years ago and in a place none of us lived.
Those dead soldiers are no less important to me than our soldiers who today still fight, to right the wrongs of this world. I'm old enough to have met some of those WWW I soldiers.
Ask me if I'll visit the graves, or erect a cross for, or take a moment out of my day to remember any of the dead members of the ACLU . . . . .

This is just one for the 'good guys'.
In the Supreme Court's decision Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote:

"The goal of avoiding governmental endorcement [of religion] does not require eradication of l all religious symbols in the public realm. The Constitution does NOT [emphasis mine]
does not oblige government to avoid any public acknowledgment of religion's role in society."

I agree. It is long past time that those of us [last count 86%] who believe in God stand up to those who say they don't. They are as entitled to their opinions as any American and the First Amendment of our Constitution gaurentees their right to disagree...............it does not, however, allow for those who disagree to force those who DO believe into silence and hiding.

According to the ACLU's web site their funding comes from 'private donations' [a contradiction of my previous statement....although I did either hear or read that they were funded by the government----AKA, us!].

They need to change their mission statement to the 'American Civil LIBERALs Union". They are working for no one who truly loves this country, only those who wish her destruction.

I still think someone should should go out into the desert and paint a great big white cross on that box. I'll even buy the paint!
