NEVER TOLERATE TYRANNY!....Conservative voices from the GRASSROOTS.

O God be near me--the ocean is so big and my boat is so small

Surviving the big storms of life

- Judi McLeod  Friday, August 26, 2011

image In whichever category, Hurricane Irene will blow the Obamas back to Washington on Saturday.

We the People never got to know why there were no plans for the Obamas to leave Martha Vineyard early.  All that is known is that everything Barack and Michelle do is for show.

That’s because for almost three long years now, this destructive duo has tormented and provoked average people, all the while displaying zero discernible human emotion for anything American.

While Obama blows back into town after yet another vacation, Hurricane Irene will, by Sunday,  be a part of the worrisome, frightening reality of an estimated 65 million people.

“Irene remains on a path that will take the hurricane dangerously close to, if not over, the mid-Atlantic coastline and New York City Saturday night into Sunday, posing a serious danger to millions of people.

Irene could be “once-in-50-year” hurricane for the Northeast. (Kristina Pydynowski, senior meteorologist, AccuWeather.com, Aug. 26, 2011).

The AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center is confident that Irene will strike the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Saturday as a strong Category 3.

Beyond that point, Irene will track extremely close to or over the mid-Atlantic coast and New York City before plowing into western New England. This could mean the worst effects from a hurricane in the region in 50 years.

Irene is expected to track near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva coast Saturday night, then could pass within 30 miles of New York City on Sunday as a weakening Category 2 hurricane.”

While on Martha’s Vineyard, Obama sent back no words of comfort to the worried-about-Irene.  Citizens already living with economic worry don’t know whether Obama’s decision to remain on holiday had to do with his trying to wax macho, or if he was just sticking on message to his not giving a damn style.

But thanks largely to AccuWeather.com and talk radio show’s best, Mark Levin, people were being advised to prepare for what could be the “once-in-50-year” hurricane for the Northeast.

We all have friends in the Irene challenged USA East Coast.  In the case of Canada Free Press (CFP) two close friends in heart-achingly beautiful Topsail, NC area,  one of whom only returned home on Wednesday from a third knee surgery in as many years.

They will all, please God, pull through.

Most of the millions that could be affected by this potential Mother of all Storms,  know in their hearts that no politician, no matter how braggartly, can calm the seas, but only exploit them with false warnings of global warming.

The Kingdom of the One who calms the seas is Heaven not Washington.

Through Mother Nature, God Almighty sometimes sends storms and natural disasters.

Politicians like the one currently in the White House create storms in the human soul.

Since we get so little inspiration but much heartache from the White House these days, there may be no better time to remember the words on a plaque kept on the desk of President John F. Kennedy: “The ocean is so big and my boat is so small.”

The “Prayer of Breton fishermen” was given to Kennedy by Admiral Hyman Rickover, who gave one like it to the commanding officer of each new Polaris submarine.

A steadfast and true American hero like the so many we hear so little about these days, Admiral Rickover is buried in Section 5 at Arlington National Cemetery.  His first wife, Ruth Masters Rickover (1903-1972), is buried with him and the name of his second wife, Eleonore A. Bednowicz Rickover, whom he met and married while she was serving as a Commander in the Navy Nurse Corps., is also inscribed on his gravestone.  He is survived by Robert Rickover, his sole son by his first wife.

“At Arlington, Rickover’s burial site overlooks the John F. Kennedy Eternal Flame.

The legacy of Rickover is contained in his creation of a detail-focused pursuit of excellence to a degree previously unknown, he redirected the Unites States Navy’s ship propulsion, quality control, personnel selection, and training and education, he has had far reaching effects on the defense establishment and the civilian nuclear energy field.

Meanwhile, a perfect prayer in the calm before Irene and all other perfect storms of life:  “O God be near methe ocean is so big and my boat is so small.”

Obama to speak on Hurricane Irene on Friday

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. (AP) The White House says President Barack Obama will make a statement Friday on Hurricane Irene from his vacation rental on Martha’s Vineyard. It comes as rain from the storm’s outer bands begins to hit the Carolinas.

Obama has been getting regular briefings from federal officials about the storm, and the White House has warned the public to follow emergency officials’ instructions.
