Our Military deserves the credit

Yes, Osama Bin Laden is dead. However, the President could not resist the urge to stretch and twist the truth during his announcement. It’s a shame really, that he chose to sour what could be his greatest accomplishment by adding an untruthful statement.

President Obama told the nation late tonight that he made the capture or killing of Osama Bin Laden a “top priority” and instructed CIA Chief Leon Panetta to make this job number one. That’s great! If only it were true.

Unfortunately this is another example of Obama’s revisionist history. From the Official Obama Administration Scandals List…

Obama Flip Flopped on Capturing Osama Bin Laden January, 2009 – Politico: “During the presidential debates last year, Obama declared that capturing or killing Osama bin Laden “has to be our biggest national security priority.” In his first TV interview after winning the election, he said the terrorist leader was “not just a symbol. He’s also the operational leader of an organization that is planning attacks against U.S. targets,” and that the additional troops being sent to Afghanistan would hunt him down because “capturing or killing bin Laden is a critical aspect of stamping out Al Qaeda.” Bin Laden’s significance to Obama dissipated during the transition. By the time Obama gave another interview in early January, he said killing or capturing bin Laden was not necessary to “meet our goal of protecting America.” A few months later, when he announced his Afghanistan troop surge, he made no reference to the hunt for bin Laden.

Seems now that he got Bin Laden, he wants to go back to believing his own campaign talk.

It’s not the first time Obama has gotten his facts about Osama wrong. He did it on December 1st, 2009 speaking at West Point…

Barack Obama said, “Under the banner of this domestic unity and international legitimacy – and only after the Taliban refused to turn over Osama bin Laden – we sent our troops into Afghanistan.” The U.K. Guardian reported on October 17th, 2001 (not even one month after 9/11) “A senior Taliban minister has offered a last-minute deal to hand over Osama bin Laden during a secret visit to Islamabad, senior sources in Pakistan told the Guardian last night. For the first time, the Taliban offered to hand over Bin Laden for trial in a country other than the US without asking to see evidence first in return for a halt to the bombing, a source close to Pakistan’s military leadership said. But US officials appear to have dismissed the proposal and are instead hoping to engineer a split within the Taliban leadership. The offer was brought by Mullah Wakil Ahmed Muttawakil, the Taliban foreign minister and a man who is often regarded as a more moderate figure in the regime. He met officials from the CIA and Pakistan’s ISI intelligence directorate in Islamabad on Monday.” – The President was incorrect to suggest the Taliban would not hand over Bin Laden.

While the President flip-flopped back to his earlier position Sunday night, there was a time last year, just two months before Obama says the current intelligence information started, when CIA Director Leon Panetta said he had no idea where Bin Laden was…


Obama’s CIA Director says Bush was President Last Time We Knew Where Osama Bin Laden Was! 6/27/10 Obama once said capturing Osama would be a top priority. He quickly changed that after the election and now says it’s not all that important. Good thing… because the last time we knew where he was George W. Bush was President!


And on 2/23/10, we learned a man who supported the legal work of Osama Bin Laden’s driver even works for President Obama!!!

The New York Post is reporting that President Obama has nine employees working for him in the Department of Justice who either represented or advocated on behalf of, terrorists at the Guantanamo Bay Prison! Jennifer Fermino reports that Eric Holder wrote to Republican Senator Charles Grassley: “”To the best of our knowledge, during their employment prior to joining the government, only five of the lawyers who serve as political appointees in those components represented detainees,” said Holder in the letter, which is dated Feb. 18. “Four others either contributed to amicus briefs in detainee-related cases or were otherwise involved in advocacy on behalf of detainees.” Holder refused to reveal the names of any of the DOJ lawyers who worked on behalf of terrorists or their positions in the department, except for two officials whose advocacy for Gitmo detainees had already been reported. Neal Katyal, the department’s principal deputy solicitor general, was once the lawyer for Osama bin Laden’s driver.

In any event, the death of Bin Laden is the birth of Obama 2012 and will give his reelection efforts a huge boost.

 

 

 

Our military desreves the credit for taking out Bin Laden, Obama just happened to be president. Obama made it no real priority to pursue him but he wants to take the credit.

I dont think Bush made a reall effort myself after getting us involved with Iraq. But, our military are the real heroes and to them I salute!

If he is really dead this time, it is because of our military and the years of watching etc to get him! Alex Jones web site has a least 9 other time our government said he was dead! Is this a diversion over the fraudulent BC issue or some other thing? Timing sucks, be skeptical unless proven 100%
