In days of yore, the Town Crier delivered his message in the village square.  The news came after the ringing of a bell and the words “Now hear this…”

President Barack Obama is the Town Crier of the Internet.  His message, like the one sent to millions last night, subject line “Frustrated” arrives on your PC in the middle of the night.

With shades of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Obama is going to Congress. 

And if plebes didn’t know any better, they would think that Obama had been spending all of his time trying to put Americans back to work instead of frittering away the lion’s share of his time vacationing and golfing between working at the fundamental Transformation of America.

It’s Congress and not We the People Obama is fighting.

In any case, it’s the “lawmakers” in Congress and not George W. Bush this time who have been holding Obama back from delivering his big, bursting-at-the-seams job plan.

Obama is if nothing else, is a very classic Marxist.

“Today I asked for a joint session of Congress where I will lay out a clear plan to get Americans back to work,” Obama wrote in his latest email.,  “Next week, I will deliver the details of the plan and call on lawmakers to pass it.”

“Whether they will do the job they were elected to do is ultimately up to them.”

Notice the seismic shift?  Obama has moved over to the side of We the People.

Obama claims outright that he needs help from We the People to pressure Congress to do the right thing. “We can send the message that the American people are playing by the rules and meeting their responsibilities­and it’s time for our leaders in Congress to meet theirs.

“And we must hold them accountable if they don’t.

“So I’m asking you to stand with me in calling on Congress to step up and take action on jobs.”

In Obama’s latest,  the presidency has somehow morphed into the “organization”: “No matter how things go in the weeks and the months ahead, this will be an important challenge for our organization.”

According to overnight populist Obama, “It’s been a long time since Congress was focused on what the American people need them to be focused on.”

Sounding downright Tea Partyish, he writes, “I know that you’re frustrated by that.  I am, too.”

This is why the ever-elusive Obama says he’ll be “putting forward a set of bipartisan proposals to help grow the economy and create jobs­that means strengthening our small businesses, giving needed breaks to middle-class families, while taking responsible steps to bring down our deficit.”

“I’m asking lawmakers to look past short-term politics and take action on that plan.  But we’ve got to do this together,” he writes.

Although he will deliver the message to Congress next week, he’s asking citizens to “stand alongside me today”.

The URL on Obama’s message to the people asks them to submit their email address, first and last names: “STAND WITH THE PRESIDENT It’s time for our lawmakers to stop playing political games.  President Obama is going to Congress to tell them to take action to get Americans back to work.  Stand with him by adding your name.”

Next Obama will be claiming he’s the Father of the Tea Party Movement.
