Membership in the United Nations is Like Having Obama President for a Second Term - UNTHINKABLE

I can think of a lot of different ways for the United States to commit national suicide, but none faster than remaining as a member of the United Nations. 

On top of that, our leader in the White House is all for it; if he thought he could somehow get away with it, he would just signal his sub-rosa (they think) leaders, Soros and the Bilderberg Group of maniacally wealthy would-be despots who want to own the world and they would come marching in.

The first problem with that is that the U.N. doesn’t have the first clue as to how to “march in” on anybody.  Have you noticed how effective they are not in solving ANY of the world’s problems?  They know they’re an impotent force and even worse when they can’t use our power.

Any time there is a tragic event at some point on the planet, the first one in is unfailingly the United States.  Even with Obama as POTUS with all his reluctance to help anyone except in those places where there is a majority population of Islams.  In the wake of 9/11 he was quoted by the press as saying of them that “I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” (From “Audacity of Hope.”)

Obama also instructed his Secretary of State, the devious and equally anti-American values Hillary Clinton, to seek secret deals with the U. N. to take our weapons away from us among other treaties as they come to her traitorous mind.

In a Human Events.com on March 16, 2011 in a Newt Gingrich letter titled, “Rising Gas Prices and Obama’s Failure to Lead” many examples of this failure to provide leadership for our country are found.

And, as this is being written, in the wake of St. Patrick’s Day while much turmoil is taking place in the world; unrest in numerous countries in the Middle East most dangerously in Libya just weeks after the tumult in Egypt where President Mubarak was driven out of the country while Obama played his Nero-like fiddle; and where the lives of one of the most populous countries in the world, Japan, are in danger of perishing from the after-effects of an earthquake/tsunami of major proportions which should have Obama’s attention on a 24/7 basis, he blithely slips out of town to visit some South American countries on other business matters.

As Gingrich says, “At times when our nation most needs presidential leadership, Barack Obama chooses to let others take the lead.”  I feel that he would be happy if the United Nations were more active in matters such as mentioned in the previous paragraph so he wouldn’t have to deal with the press over them.  He prefers other problems such as mapping out his next vacation where Michelle and the kids can do some shopping.

“We saw this pattern begin in the early stages of his administration. The country was beginning to slide into a deep recession, and bold action was needed quickly to turn the tide. However, rather than develop an aggressive plan on his own and fight for its passage in Congress, the new president opted instead to allow Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to design the plan. The result was the $787 billion stimulus boondoggle” said Gingrich.

“Then same thing happened with the president’s health care plan. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were given power to design the plan, resulting in the president placing himself in the odd position where he had to defend the individual mandate despite the fact he campaigned against it in the 2008 Democratic primary.” 

Obama is never ready to accept responsibility or the duties of our country’s leader and as Gingrich pointed out in his letter, Obama promised in his State of the Union address to take the lead on returning the country to a balanced budget and then submitted a budget failing in that objective.  He left his responsibilities up to Congress to solve. 

I have reiterated often before in this column that I can not for the life of me understand how he can manage to so totally fool so many of our people concerning his abysmal job performance.  That the 20 to 25 percent of the welfare class and illegal aliens would support him there is no doubt; he is given credit for all of the entitlements, even those they receive as benefits from past administrations and congresses. 

But when his approval numbers reach into the mid 40s percent level, though they have been slipping over the past few weeks with his feeble handling of the Middle East eruptions, it is a bit mind boggling.  How can so many people be so blind to his actual performances as opposed to his glib speeches? 

It’s obviously true that there are places where the sun never shines.

John Dickinson, a less widely-known Father from Philadelphia who fought during the American Revolution and served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the First Continental Congress in 1774 and the U.S. Constitutional Convention of 1787. Dickinson is perhaps most famous for his declaration to King George III that Americans were resolved to die free men rather than live slaves.

The following passage is taken from John Dickinson’s “Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania to the Inhabitants of the British Colonies.” Here we find Dickinson, the former Progressive Christian President of Pennsylvania, writing eloquently on the freedom that is granted to us by God, and the vigilance that is required to retain that freedom. His comment regarding how our freedoms can be gradually usurped has special resonance for Americans today.

I am no further concerned in anything affecting America, than any one of you; and when liberty leaves it, I can quit it much more conveniently than most of you. But while that Divine Providence which gave me existence in a land of freedom permits my head to think, my lips to speak, and my hand to move, I shall highly and gratefully value this blessing I’ve received, and I’ll take care that my silence and inactivity shall not give my implied assent to any act, degrading my brethren and myself from the birthright, wherewith heaven itself “hath made us free.”

[With Regards to Great Britain] All artful rulers, who strive to extend their power beyond its just limits, try to give to their attempts as much semblance of legality as possible. Those who succeed them may then venture to go a little further; for each new encroachment will be strengthened by the former. In other words, that which is now supported by examples, grows old, and eventually become another example to support fresh usurpations.

A FREE people therefore can never be too quick in observing, nor too firm in opposing the beginnings of alterations in form or reality regarding those institutions established for their security. The first kind of alteration leads to the last. Yet, on the other hand, nothing is more certain than that our forms of liberty may be retained even when the literal substance is gone. In government, as well as in religion, “The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”¹
