Democrat Walkout Further Insults Benghazi Victims’ Families

The memory of those killed during the U.S. Embassy attack in Benghazi last year continue to have their memories sullied by the very government they were serving on their mission. Recently, Secretary of State John Kerry prohibited survivors of the raid from testifying before Congress; and the families of the four men killed have encountered endless roadblocks in their pursuit of answers.

Just this week, as the parents of two of those victims were preparing to address the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, they learned just how petty the modern left can be. Instead of respectfully remaining seated during their comments, all but two Democrats stood up and left the venue.

Naturally, those tasked with carrying Barack Obama’s water during this controversy have a vested interest in silencing any dissenting voices. As disgusting as such blatant partisanship is, staging a walkout during the testimony of grieving parents is entirely beyond the pale.

During the Bush administration, the left was more than happy to provide a pronounced soapbox on which one mother of a soldier killed in action could stand. Cindy Sheehan, of course, railed against the purported misdeeds of a Republican. When a Democrat whose utter lack of concern led to the death of an American ambassador and three other brave heroes, any such criticism is completely unacknowledged.

Fifteen U.S. Representatives, either through an organized protest or spur-of-the-moment walkout, added yet another insult to the incredible heartache of burying a loved one. Their unwillingness to even hear what these parents had to say suggests a continuing desire to downplay the significance of that attack. The American people join the Benghazi victims and their families in demanding answers.

The government’s secretive nature as it relates to the attack only furthers the assumption of negligence on the part of Barack Obama and the State Department during and after the embassy slaughter.

Through their actions, these heartless members of Congress sent the same message as Hillary Clinton: “What difference does it make?”

Please, feel free to contact them to share your opinion of their incredible disrespect shown to two of the parents of the four slain in Benghazi on 9/11/12.....only Elija Cummings and Jackie Spier remained for this testimony. Two people on this list didn't attend ANY of the hearings [they need to be removed from the Oversight Committee.....NOW! They should ALL be removed for their SHAMEFUL behavior]

As Katie reportedyesterday, every Democrat attending the House Oversight and Government Reform hearing today on Benghazi -- except for Elijah Cummings and Jackie Spier -- left the hearing room without offering the victims' families the courtesy even of hearing their testimony.

What shoddy disgraces.

So who were these people? Chairman Issa's spokesman reported that fourteen Democrats attended the first part of the hearing. There are 18 Democrats on the committee. That means that 4 didn't attend any of the hearing, and 12 others walked out.

Below is a list of the congressmen whose staffs confirmed they attended yesterday's hearing. These are people who evidently walked out without waiting to hear from the families of those murdered in Benghazi:

** Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth should, in my view, be particularly ashamed, as she is a veteran of the Iraq war, a former assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and a former Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.

The following offices either couldn't or wouldn't provide an answer about the simple whereabouts of congressmen yesterday -- so they may or may not have been at the hearing:
