Islam and Socialism... an unholy alliance coming to an end.

Islamic socialism: is a term coined by various Muslim leaders to meet the demand for a more spiritual form of socialism. Muslim socialists believe that the teachings of the Qur'an and Muhammad are compatible with principles of equality and the redistribution of wealth. The result is that Islam and socialist have an unholy alliance... each seeing the other as the 'Key' to the imposition of a greater good.  The Arabic proverb: My enemies enemy, is my friend being the operative relationship between Islam and socialism.

Abū Dharr al-Ghifārī, a Companion of Prophet Muḥammad, is credited by many as the founder of Islamic socialism. He protested against the accumulation of wealth by the ruling class during ‘Uthmān's caliphate and urged the equitable redistribution of wealth. Some Orientalists believe that there exist a number of parallels between Islamic economics and communism, including the Islamic ideas of zakat and riba.

Islamic welfare state:

The concepts of welfare and pension were introduced in early Islamic law as forms of Zakat (charity), one of the Five Pillars of Islam, under the Rashidun Caliphate in the 7th century. This practice continued well into the Abbasid era of the Caliphate. The taxes (including Zakat and Jizya) collected in the treasury of an Islamic government were used to provide income for the needy, including the poor, elderly, orphans, widows, and the disabled. According to the Islamic jurist Al-Ghazali (Algazel, 1058–1111), the government was also expected to stockpile food supplies in every region in case a disaster or famine occurred. The Caliphate can thus be considered the world's first major welfare state.

Modern Islamic Socialists Movements:

The first experimental Islamic commune was established during the Russian Revolution of 1917 as part of the Wäisi movement, an early supporter of the Soviet government. The Muslim Socialist Committee of Kazan was also active at this time.

Muammar al-Gaddafi... who seized power in Libya with a military coup in 1969, called his ruling ideology "Islamic socialism".

Other notable Muslim socialists include:

  • Jamal al-Din Afghani, one of the founders of Islamic modernism
  • Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, Indian politician and cabinet minister from 1947–1954
  • Haji Misbach, Indonesian nationalist and anti-Dutch preacher of "Islamic Communism"
  • Khalid Muhammad Khalid, mid-20th-century Egyptian political and social reformer
  • Jalal Al-e Ahmad, Iranian social and political critic
  • Gamal Abdel Nasser, Egyptian socialist leader
  • Muammar al-Gaddafi, Libyan Islamic socialist revolutionary
  • Yasser Arafat... the Palestinian movement

Islamic Marxism

Islamic Marxism is a term that has been used to describe Ali Shariati (in Shariati and Marx: A Critique of an "Islamic" Critique of Marxism by Assef Bayat). It is also sometimes used in discussions of the 1979 Iranian revolution, including parties such as the Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization.

Gaddafi based his new regime on a blend of Arab nationalism, aspects of the welfare state, and what Gaddafi termed "popular democracy", or more commonly "direct, popular democracy". He called this system "Islamic socialism", and, while he permitted private control over small companies, the government controlled the larger ones. Welfare, "liberation" (or “emancipation” depending on the translation), and education were emphasized. He also imposed a system of Islamic morals, outlawing alcohol and gambling. Like previous revolutionary figures of the 20th century such as Mao and his Little Red Book, Gaddafi outlined his political philosophy in his 'Green Book' to reinforce the ideals of this socialist-Islamic state and published in three volumes between 1975 and 1979.

In 1977, Gaddafi proclaimed that Libya was changing its form of government from a republic to a "jamahiriya" – a neologism that means "mass-state" or "government by the masses". In theory, Libya became a direct democracy governed by the people through local popular councils and communes. At the top of this structure was the General People's Congress, with Gaddafi as secretary-general. However, after only two years, Gaddafi gave up all of his governmental posts in keeping with the new egalitarian philosophy.

From time to time, Gaddafi has responded to domestic and external opposition with violence. His revolutionary committees called for the assassination of Libyan dissidents living abroad in April 1980, with Libyan hit squads sent abroad to murder them. On 26 April 1980, Gaddafi set a deadline of 11 June 1980 for dissidents to return home or be "in the hands of the revolutionary committees". Nine Libyans were murdered during that time, five of them in Italy.

Purging the Islamic Socialist State... and the implementation of a pure ORTHODOX Islamic Caliphate.

This is what we are now seeing occurring in the Mid-East. Islam is now braking ranks with the SOCIALIST STATE; preparing for a world wide Caliphate and the imposition of ORTHODOX Islam and Shari-Law.  There has never been a moderate arm of Islam... Islam considers the MODERATE to be an HERETIC. The Western Media is ignoring the facts and missing the underlying motives for the current unrest in the Mid-East; the leftist Media are ignoring the purge that is occurring, believing that Islam will not break ranks with their SOCIALIST allies.  However, they are simply ignorant of the 'religious zeal' that Islam demands of its true followers.

The Problem with the socialist is that they don't understand 'Faith' and the power of faith to transform the belief systems and governments of entire nations.  The socialist are ill informed and continue to hold on too their alliance with Islam even as the leaders and former socialist secular states are deposed by the Muslim Brotherhood and Orthodox Islam.
