Important Bills Currently Before Congress at the Congress.org Web Site - Repeal of Retroactive Immunity for the Telecommunications Industry

In the event some of you do not know about congress.org, this is an important Web site which delineates certain bills currently before Congress. Each of us can contact our respective Senators vis-a-vis which bills we agree with or, more importantly, disagree with. Right now there is a bill before Congress which would repeal retroactive immunity for the telecommunications industry vis-a-vis allowing the authorities to tap phone lines in order to root out terrorists.

If this repeal is successful, it would be a damn shame...and Congress would open this country up to terrorist attacks everywhere and anywhere the terrorists choose.

Can you imagine that the authorities can get one wire tap authorization PER PHONE LINE but, if the terrorists use throw-away phones, as they are wont to do, the authorities CANNOT tap any new lines without obtaining a warrant which might lose valuable time?
